My C300 cost 41.6 before tax and license. But then, it's well equipped since I knew I would be driving it for at least seven years and I didn't want any buyer's remorse.

OTD means tax, licenses & fees all included...if you get a c300 w/ auto & p1 for $32.5k, you still need to pay something like $2k to $3k for tax & fees

not that i wanna argue with you, but thas not what you quoted originally.

in your post, you stated: c300 with auto & p1 to around $40k OTD

it doesn't matter anyway. my original point was that the C class is the low-end model of MBZ and that (at least here in the US) it's quite affordable.

read my post more clearly please...$32.5k for auto+p1 would be considered a good deal, plus $3k for tax & fees and you have $35.5k..
not to mention the destination charge & if you choose metallic paint, that's another $1.2k combined...so..$36k to $37k OTD is with in range..
if you have more options like p2 and mm, you are looking at $40k OTD to be a really good deal..

aight, my bad homie. i misread. the pedant in me somehow inserted unnecessary punctuation marks in your sentence=]

so i read it as : "More like $36k to $37k OTD for base model c300; with auto & p1 to around $40k OTD. if you have more options like MM & P2.. ."

Irrelevant, doesnt really matter if it was a "gift" from someone as long as you drive it everyday. You never really own your car in the states while your paying for it, it belongs to the bank until you fully pay it off ( which happens after a good 5-6 yrs). Not to mention a lease, that like having a loaner.

there's alot of haters on these forums.. damn man you guys can't all just be proud and say thank G-D you every1 of you are lucky enough to be owning such a nice vehicle!!! For millions of people it is only a dream to own this car, and all every1 doing here is comparing who is older or younger, who paid more or less.... just be thankful for what you have and don't ever compare yourself to any1 else, you will either feel like **** is they are better than you or become arrogant or cocky if you have something better than them. and for those who are just saying they want to know just out of curiousity, i think there is very few of you that are doing just that.

let's also include the following question in the survey...

"did you buy the car yourself or did someone else bought it for you"
I assume you are no longer going to Fremont

oh it's still a benz alright. just not actually YOUR benz. it's you dad's benz.

wow. good point. i never saw it like that. very philosophical, kind of like 'if a benz falls in the forest but there's nobody around to hear it...'.
sounds like someone is paying your car note too though...

wasn't trying to start anything, just make the point that we can all drive someone else's car at any age, but all that does is tell people how successful your dad is.
if you come out with 'i'm 23 and i bought this C63 with my own money', then . that's some intersting stuff, and yes, you actually own that car as you pay for it.
but if your parentals are coughing up every month, then who really cares how old you are?!? 17, 27, whatever. your parents are rich enough and trust you with a new benz. you're driving a car someone else pays for, even if you defend the concept as if it's you making out checks to MB every month. boring.
just say 'i'm 18 and my parents bought it for me', unless you're ashamed or embarrassed, which nobody is doing, which just goes to show... it really DOES matter who pays for it, otherwise it wouldn't be an issue, right??
$0.02.

i'll leave you guys to compare your (parent's) pocketbooks. i'm off to drive my old banger... that i paid for in full with cash! brrrrrrrap!
