I've seen vinyl wrapped wheels and as ctgilles said, they tend to go to crap pretty quickly due to heat and road debris.

ok then my next question is after u powdercoat your rims can they take the powdercoat off?

Yes, but it depends on what the original finish of your wheels is... if they're chrome they can be either dipped or glassblasted. If they're aluminum they can be sandblasted or glassblasted.

The wheels should be be re-finished after doing this.

well...there are specially engineered vinyl that are extremely heat resistant. They use them for electrical transformer environment to resist heat, UV, and condensation. You can also always get it professionally clear coated on top to protect it.

Well, the vinyl would be a good way to try it out for a few weeks to see if you like the look. There's only so much a photoshopped picture can tell you. I wouldn't suggest it as a permanent solution as powdercoating is the way to go.

i ask only because if u ever wanted the original finish again u can just take these off
