AMG body kit still doesn't give you access to the AMG private lounge. That shows that even Mercedes doesn't think you belong unless you have a real AMG vehicle.

I think having an AMG badge on a car without having a real AMG is just being a poser sorry to say. Like in the S.F, I see alot of people saying that isnt an M3 or AMG, that a poser who think he/she is tight or w/e. (People like to trash talk alot apparently) Anyways I think it's really up to you of course, but alot of people are going to laugh at it. That my opinion through a teenager prespective.

wow...didn't expect to get so many feedback on a small badge...
well...you guys convinced me...guess there is a reason those AMG badges were only offered in some countries...
for the price my friend paid for that c280, he would very well bought the c63 here in the state...

You want to slap on an AMG badge because your future "mods" include clear side markers w/ chrome stealth bulb, trunk lid spoiler & either 17" or 18" amg wheels?! Are you kidding me...is that all you think goes into an AMG???

so we have a consensus that changing AMG parts like bumper or hood is cool, putting AMG emblem on non AMG car is evil..
how do members feel about modding the car to look like AMG then debadge the car??
wouldn't it be just as bad as the evil emblem??

^^ dude, just do a search on this topic. It's been covered numerous times with arguments pro and against. Any further discussion on this always turns to bad feelings and bickering.

No, some member made a complete replica (outside) from the C63 and it looked great. But he had no badges. No 6.3, no AMG...

Not this again ... Nothing good ever comes out of this topic except animosity. Lines in the sand have already been drawn and points/counter-points made by both camps.

If you like it that's all that counts, I see a lot of these threads on the BMW forum too and I never understood what it matters what other people think of what you do to your car.
Your car, your money, your decision.
Just my 2ct.

Well, since you asked for opinions, I'd have to say 'skip it'. I subscribe to the 'No engine, no badge' school of thought. People who know what AMG is will scoff at you for having the badge and not the stuff underneath.
my $.02 .
Sounds like your other mods will look nice, though.

Well, if you put a badge on the car, it's obvious that you want to be noticed for it. People who don't know about AMG won't care one bit or even notice it. Only people who would notice it would know it's not an AMG and not be impressed. I've seen so many "badged" C classes that I thought if you get some kind of wheel or body kit package at the dealership they automatically throw in a badge on the trunk for free. I think it does look cool because without a badge on the right side of the trunk it looks empty to me. 4Matic anyone? Personally though I'd go for something like "Sport" since in US C350 does not come with 4Matics.

Damn dude! You found my car!!!
Enough about these ///AMG badge posts? Why do people even bother to ask for approval? If you want to do it, just go ahead and do it. Don't come looking for encouragement here because you're not going to find it. Maybe a ricer forum will give you a thumbs up. Do what you want to your car … just don't expect any sympathy if your car gets keyed because of it.

Adding AMG badge:Just wondering..For years AMG was looked down on because the cars had great engine, but no handling, would'nt that have been outright dangerous.
So, the AMG engine argument holds even less water for me.

I agree, no engine, no badge. Before I bought my E55 I wanted to remove the badges, my car guy son convinced me otherwise. Buying AMG sport packages is awesome, they look gnarly and aggressive. But AMG is really the motor, not even the chassis so its a Mercedes not and AMG if it doesn't have the OH MY GAWD acceleration warp factory nine motor in it. Some places it isnt practical to own a beast, where I am in the north east, mine is a 3 season car. Getting put away for winter storage as we speak.

Moto Guzzi, Kawasaki road and off road bikes had the same issue for years, then they figured out chassis. AMG while they aren't nimble like BMW, will always get to the first turn first so the razor sharp handling is a moot point, if I'm in front of you, you gotta get around me. Simple math. BMW razor handling is a conundrum, on the street its a huge advantage but you'd be pretty silly to push one at 10/10th on the road, too dangerous. On a racetrack, the racing lines are not as severe and speed is enhanced cos its built for speed (racetracks) so we go back to motor being a bigger factor.
