Insult to all MB owners
Today while running around doing errands, I saw in a distance a black C-class. As I approached I saw the C63/AMG badges on the trunk, however the car did not look right.
When passing the C I was horrified to see some really ghetto wire wheels that was sticking way past the wheel wells with improperly sized tires, and more 6.3 badges on the fenders. All of the aftermarket badges were slightly crooked. There were two really douchey-looking guys in the front seats wearing backwards baseball caps, seats slung low, and bobbing their heads to the stereo, with the windows rolled down, acting like total poseurs.
Looking from my rear view mirror, it was indeed a C300 base luxury model. I don't know whether to laugh or cry -- it was a sorry sight and I'd wished I had a camera to capture the atrocity and embarrassment.
Where was the taste police when you need them!

Looking from my rear view mirror, I noticed it was a C300 base luxury model with some poorly done AMG badging. I don't know whether to laugh or cry -- it was a sorry sight and I'd wished I had a camera to capture the atrocity and embarrassment.

yeah, I realized it was not an AMG about 20 feet from behind, and it was pretty dirty. Because it was black it was harder to tell and I don't see many Luxury models around here.
Kind of like a traffic accident, you can't help to look at it.

Ha ha every so often a question will be brought to this board about what we think about adding an AMG badge to the back of a base car. This I think answers that question!

LMAO some random dude came up to me and my cousin and said...
him - that's a nice car is it new
me - yea its a few months old, it's a 09
him - *looks at the "C300" badge*... you know the S-Class is the highest Class Benz
me - yup i know that, maybe one day *didnt want to talk to him*
him - you could always take off the "C" and put a "S" they sell them everywhere
me - :| ...
cousin - hardcore benz fans might notice it's not a S *sarcasticly*
him - but it will say "S"
me - :| ... ok bye.

again and again
I see this all the time and can tell from 50 feet away. I have seen c class, cls, s class, e class with amg on the right and the none amg model badge on the left. do people think they are fooling others. Maybe some dumb blonde doesn't know the difference and assums your rich cause it says amg. It erks me. I had a c32 amg suped up and debaged, got sick of people wanting to race and it was a sleeper. the miss badging will never end. But guys like me wll always call those idiots out. I go by and tell you nice fake amg or I didn't know they make that model ? I also check for the replica rolex.

Ok, to stir the pot a little in the interests of a reality check:
I don't think some idiot who tries to pass off a rebadged model as the real thing is an insult to all MB owners. I'm not so shaky in my self worth that I somehow feel that his action is a reflection on me, or the car make that I bought.
I laugh when I see it, so to me it's entertainment, one more clown in the human parade. There's a bunch of them.
People will do what they do, and idiots and/or the juvenile, will do things that they later cringe over when they think back to the time they rebadged whatever car. Consider it a learning experience for somebody that just hasn't grown a little.
Of course the exact same thing can be said for those guys who buy the largest diameter wheels they can stuff under the fender, usually chromed out so they're way heavier, thinking that this kind of "style" isn't something other than just surface bling. They don't realize that it's not functional, and they don't realize that they've effectively re-geared the final drive, and adversely affected the suspension, because modern design factors wheels and tires in as part of the suspension, not just shiny rolley things.
But, function only appeals to the guys who appreciate well designed function, and "style" will always reign supreme with the usual crowd who couldn't care less.

But that HYBRID badge is even better idea
In my town here's one of the fastest RS4 in Finland with "A4 1.9TDI" badges
