AMG Hood? Would a dealer install it for you?

Can we get a C63 hood from the dealership?

Do they have more noise insulation? (just wondering cause I don't want my engine to be muted )

And would it be crossing those not-an-AMG rules? (like don't put the badge up?) (wouldn't want to look like a poser) I wouldn't put badges on though, of course...

I just really like how pissed off the hood looks.

If I remember correctly, you need to get a new grille, bumper, and fenders to make the hood work.

As AZN said you would also need the bumper, grill and fenders from the C63 to use the OEM AMG hood.

There's a Belgian tuner who has a C63 hood that fits non-AMG cars. Expression Motorsport.

yeah, but the air vents look like crap on it. If the vents were flush, then it would have been much better, but with the surrounds sticking out, it looks like a slap on piece.

Someone here posted a link to ebay of one that fit on fine (without extra bumper lights and grille)... and it looked good... can't find it though...

yeah, I don't like the vents either

Considering how affordable a c63 is in the USA why would you buy a c300 or c350 then spend upwards of 10 grand on rims, rear diffuser, hood, bumper, grill and still not have a c63 why not just put that cash aside and put it towards a c63.

If I was buying now, I probably would just get a C63, but at time of purchase, there was a huge wait list for the C63 and I needed a car immediately. Everyone has different situation, some have time factor, some have money factor. Even if you want to look at cost, a fully loaded C300 vs a fully loaded C63, even with $10k mods, you're still saving $20-30k, especially considering if you're a modder, you'd still be mod the C63, so aftermarket costs come out in a wash.

I contacted them a while ago they said no vents was possible too? Maybe they were mistaken...

well lets see.. my car and a c63 is about a 20 grand diference, compared to some1 can mod gradually instead of dishing out a ton of cash that some people may not have.. INSURANCE.. id prob pay like 10 grand for a c63 compared to like 4 for a reg c300.. and just because some people are changing some parts on there car doesnt mean there trying to turn it into a
c63

Plus, I just wanted to pay cash and be done with it. I'm not sure I'd take the C63 over the M3 anyway (ducks). If I still want a sedan when I am done this car, I will probably get the M. It just suits my needs a little better.

C350 and a Lightning.
first of all, jturkel, thank you. I just stopped starring at my computer and came back to reality. whew.

The only thing I need off of a C63 is under the hood, not the hood it's self.

Dealers are likely to install whatever you want but will void your warranty of that piece and any piece that could be affected by it.

Just FYI a dealer wont install a c63 hood on a C300, it wasnt ment for that car and that exactly what they will tell ya, but its something almost any shop could easily do.

I guess it might depend on your dealer, my relationship with mine is very amicable. He's advised me against some mods in the past, but once i gave him my autograph and credit card he did it anyways.

THE C63 HOOD NOT FIT IN C350/C300, Why? It is more long by more than 2". I changed the Front bumper and grille see C350 with C63 Front Bumper . The C63 hood style for C350 in ebay has not good quality.
