Retrofitting COMAND (MM) writeup.
"The SAM module must be removed by loosening four torx screws, then pull the entire SAM unit up, then locate a large 14-pin pink connector, remove and disconnect the red/blue line placed in cavity 6, replace with retrofit harness wire, assemble in reverse order."
Is it normal that the navigation does not remember your location after you shut it down? It uses a location that you have shut it down at some point and then sometimes it resets itself to a new location...
Also every time you open a door the screen goes black and restarts?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
new comand unit and monitor need to be linked using a data cable and a power cable.
From what i read the original data cable (A2045405606) between screen and headunit is replaced by (A2045405706)?
Power cable then must either be rewired or use harness from original part list on page 1?
Am i missing something? what is the kabeldaviko display adapter some users mention?
thanks so much

Install complete. Everything works and looks great.
I do have one issue.
Motorized Monitor opens when car is unlocked, when any door is opened, and when a click sound is heard from engine bay. This is all with no key inserted and engine off.
Car will be off and locked, and screen will open and close randomly and non stop at some interval.
When engine is off the "close screen button" on the vents will infact close the screen. When engine is on and radio is playing the button will not close the screen.
When I turn engine off, the screen will close and then immediately reopen.
Is this a wiring issue or is it a defective screen?
I replaced cavity 6 of pink harness in SAM with new retro red/blue wire. I also plugged in 2 white/black cables to CAN strip, and grounded with brown wire. The retro cable bunch came with one magenta ended wire that is not used I believe. Removing the black/white cables from the CAN strip will stop screen motor.
Headunit engineering mode comes up with 3 errors: "wrong most ring", "lost com with disp-c", "lost com with disp-ctl"??
I appreciate any feedback or input
Thanks much

there are mentions of a grounding issue?
i grounded harness brown cable with the rest in the drivers foot well. is there a trick to grounding properly. i want to finish up project but am stuck.
thanks much
After setting MOST correctly with Xentry everything was fine.
i think you may be right. The error code i get is "Wrong Most Ring", and when i unplug power to headunit, the monitor stops acting up.
I got my headunit local for cheap in like new condition. Can these things come up stolen..AHHH?? i hope dealer can do the reprogramming for me.
thanks again

just a heads up or maybe some feedback?

I'm not much of a Comand guy, but my dad surprised me with a purchase of one on ebay. so here I am reading and learning about retrofitting one into my 204.
there's few things I'm confused about.
1. the ECE I got has part # of A204 900 59 03 (does it have to do with the park-tronic button that's on there?) would it work with my US spec 2008?
2. I'm reading that you would need a new vent? A204 870 28 51 or is this a switch behind the vent? since in your parts list with picture it showed a vent.
3. right now I have the GPS antenna (aftermarket apparently came with the purchase), A2048204697 monitor, A2045405706 Screen wiring harness (the cable between screen and the main unit) and the A2049005903 head unit.
if I'm understanding correctly I will need the below parts:
A2045409706 APS wiring harness (the APS harness is the retrofit harness, correct?)
A2119840429 Bolt for fan x2
A2048321245 Air duct
A2048320645 Air duct
A2048320545 Air duct
A2048321045 Air duct
A2048300508 Axial fan
however I'm also confused if I would need these:
A2048702851 Central air nozzle screen switch
A20483041549116 (black) Central air nozzle
A0225457426 Clutch for antenna cable
A2118200088 Antenna adapter cable

As far as I know
A2048300508 Axial fan (No diff in LHD or RHD veh i'm assuming ?)
From LHD Veh list ... I dont think these will fit the RHD veh ?
A2119840429 Bolt for fan x2 (Most prob will be the same)
A2048321245 Air duct -- from LHD list will it fit RHD ?
A2048320645 Air duct -- from LHD list will it fit RHD ?
A2048320545 Air duct -- from LHD list will it fit RHD ?
A2048321045 Air duct -- from LHD list will it fit RHD ?
A2045409706 APS wiring harness (Most prob the same)
