Well these cars may not be AMGs but they're not necessarily slow either. My friends in the UK drive hatchbacks with displacement ranging from 1.0L to 2.0L and horsepower ranging from 40hp to 210hp. The most powerful of which is a Volkswagen Golf GTI with 210hp. Now none of my friends can afford a Mercedes-Benz to be fair, especially with the prices in the UK but they can handle the slow acceleration of their cars which can be anything up to 20 seconds to get to 60mph.

Of course we'd all love a C63 AMG, and the 6.2L V8 in that car is an absolute beast. However, with that said I think that the normal 2.5L, 3.0L and 3.5L V6 engines are quite underrated to be honest. Everyone raves about the Inline 6's in BMWs which im sure are good but these V6's are still excellent. And in my opinion with normal driving and considering fuel economy and speed limits here in the US, nobody really needs more than around the 200hp mark, we're just all power hungry over here (nothing wrong with that, but i'm talking about need here).

In any case i'd love for the C350 4matic to come over here or for them to upgrade the HP on the C300 4matic, but if they don't i'm still happy with my engine and in manual mode its still pretty fast - at least fast enough for me for a daily driver.

In 2001 I drove a C180 on the Autobahn at 180 km/hr with no trouble at all. It wasn't slow to accelerate, handled quite well, and had no problems sustaining the speed.

We sometimes get caught up in the idea of "bigger is better" when it's not always so!
