Speeding.

in a 100 zone. Got nailed with a brutal ticket. Since I have the option of going to court, I think I will go to court and see if the officer shows up. If not I get off scott free. Anyone else get any tickets in their ride yet? Sure many have...
best of luck.
speed is boring to me , I like quick accels to the speed limit :P
Fun, loud, and so long as you don't squeal the tires, no cops can touch you. And it doesn't increase your chance of being dead.

It's easy for them to tag you with a reckless for hard acceleration, then either not show up or bank on the judge siding with them since they wear the badge and are therefore "more honest" than the average citizen.
And good luck with that no increase in chance of death thing, it's always good to keep those odds down.

Had a court date which got postponed twice, and got a lawyer who made sure I got no points but I had a $361 fine.
The other ticket was some ******* cop in Peabody, Massachusetts who had nothing better to do and decided that I ran a red making a left turn, even though it was a green/black and he drove right past me. Got that dropped after a court date. Its just a money-making machine for them.
With that in agreement, do you still think your chances of death are no worse at full throttle, regardless of speed?
Your chances of losing control are definitely greater at full throttle due to that reduction in control. And due to those increased odds, there are increased odds of an accident. And you don't have to be going much over 15mph for an accident to be fatal. It would have to be a freak thing to get killed going only 15mph or 20mph, but it's quite possible. And if full throttle makes the odds of that freak occurrence go from 1 in a million to 2 in a million, it's still a freak occurrence, but you've doubled your odds.
Also, I think you are only considering if your vehicle hits something hard, and are disregarding the increased chances of getting hit by someone else...
you know, that innocent driver on their way home after a 16 hour day trying to feed their family during these tough economic times, and if they weren't so tired they may not have driven into you or your path, and if you weren't pegged to the floor you might have had enough control to avoid, but no, and then there's a big crash, and people get to see what increased chances of death really look like
(please excuse the rambling run-on sentences, it's for effect!
)now, with that all said, it's time to fess up. By far, my favorite part of owning my S55 is the part where the accelerator touches the floor.

so... basically i don't go 50 kmh over :\ ...
the way i see it... that speed limit was set by some ppl tryin to be extra safe... if there is no one on the roads i think it's safe to go over the limit once you're responsible.
