Oh, now that you have opened the thread I am not some immature kid who wants stobes for show. I am a Volunteer Firefighter and have been having trouble getting into scenes without an indicator light. We use Blue strobe lights in my area. I have been looking at Whelen TIR 3 LEDs The problem is that I do not have any experience wiring in automobiles. On top of that, I am not so sure that the Benz is the one to start learning on. Does anyone have any ideas about wiring the lights with out creating a hack job? Is there a location that I could possibly just plug into the power in a concealed space? I will need to wire up a switch to control the lights too, thats the easy part. Getting power is the part I need to know about. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

The underhood fuse panel has unused 12V sources.

Just get a dash light and mount it to your windshield with suction cups. Take it down when not in use. I don't know that I would want to drill holes in my corner lights to install a strobe kit, but ymmv.

Its kind of a hack job, but you could conceal it decently -- have you considered wiring it into a cigarette lighter power plug and plugging it into the 12V port in the glovebox? Better than plugging it in the center console one where you have to leave the ashtray door open all the time....

Thats what I did with my radar detector. Fed the wire up the A pillar then along the top of the windshield to the mirror. Only see a little bit of wire when I use the detector otherwise it is tucked behind the mirror.

'cause fires aren't usually scheduled ahead of time. You never know where you'll be when you get the call.

Thats not a bad idea. I could do this if I was unsure of how to connect to the unused 12V power sources in the fuse panel.

I would be cool to put some hide-aways in that part of the headlight assembly. Hide-aways are expensive as well as getting the correct controler.

Ummm...what else am I going to do to get the the fire scene.....maybe walk??? FYI, I live a good distance from the firehouse so I always go straight to the scene becasue the truck has rolled already. It sucks to roll up the street to the firehouse and be looking at the tail lights of my fire truck since they have a full crew.

...use a couple of flatlighters. I use a Whelen Slim-Miser LED Series Deck/Dash Lights in the front and a Whelen SpitFire LED Dash/Deck Light - Red/Blue in the back.

I hardwired the units into the fusebox on my R32 and connected them via a quickconnect plug so that I can easily remove the lights when not needed...

I want to get 4 of the Whelen LIN 3 and mount 2 in the windsheild on either side of the mirror and 2 in the rear window spaced evenly. I plan to find ways to mount these without the need to drill holes.

You could fit the Tir3s in the grill I think Aggressive. Whelen also makes corner LEDs that fit tight in the top of the windshield corners........
