Actually I too went through the c300 sound system issue...but i have the answer to the problem.....i always knew even the stock speakers for the benz has to bang out but ever since i got my c300 while playing the audio system it shorts out randomly messing up my songs playing.....so i bought a bluetooth dongle called car pro for mercedes benz on amazon for like 80$ and all my problems dealing with the audio system was corrected!....i can now play music in my car to the benz full potential quality without any shortages....=]]]]] hopefully this info will help some of yall out.Amazon.com: Bluetooth Adapter for Audi and Volkswagen iPod iPhone AMI Cable - CoolStream CarPro: Automotive

The recommendations for the Kappas and the self powered sub is an inexpensive way (about $350) to get 200 watts into the door speakers plus whatever the sub produces, from the existing Audio 20 headunit.
Driving six hours on noisy roads yesterday, it was necessary to turn the volume down as this high efficiency and accuracy upgrade really does work fantastically. However, it is only 2 channel stereo, and not comparable to 5.1 surround sound as the HK system provides.

i got a BMW E90 Alpine HiFi kit no. 65412163268 and i want to know if its possible to use it in my W204 sound upgrade project
The kit includes tweeters midranges and an amp+wiring harness

I wasn't paying attention when I upgraded from my 2013 to a 2018. The 2013 sound system was the best. This one is sad. Im going to have to upgrade.

For about $250 using 2 ohm impedance speakers, effectively performs like a 400 watt system. SPLs of over 120dB can be obtained (not in the bass tho, that would require an additional subwoofer, which are not expensive). Best of success!
