Unfortunately, I used the 4000k Philips. I think the 4300k or 5000k are a better match. (The 4000k were on sale, though, so not a big deal.)
this is much easier that even i assumed... i have to check if i have the same 3 screw set up... but i pray it's that easy...

nice work!

From other posts around here its just three torx screws to remove the grill surrounds and then just replace bulb. That's what I originally thought as well which is why I questioned the long process that VV said.

Hey, you should have looked on ebay (uk). I got mine for less than £29 (link below). They arrived in a few days. The car should be ready this or next weekend. It left Germany on Saturday, and should hit the dealer today or tomorrow. Then they have to add a few aftermarket items and I should be enjoying it! It's been a painfull 3 month wait!

that would be a great bulb to use for the supplementary high beam bulbs (for those who have bi-xenons).

Thanks. If I remember correctly it's a T10 screw.

btw, I learned this from another poster either here or on another benz board I frequent. I don't remember who it was, though, so can't give proper credit (sorry).

Also, I've read that the luxury version is much more involved.

FWIW.

Why?, these styling blue/white bulbs usually doesnt have as good light output as regular bulbs, and when youre driving with your high beams no one will ever see them.

Better to have a high output bulb like the Philips Extreme Power 80+

The high beam bulbs work along with the bi-xenons, as the bi-xenons lights tilt upwards in high beam mode, so it wouldn't be much of an issue.

Myself, I replaced my supplementary high beam bulbs with Luminics Krypton Titanium bulbs which are extremely bright (much brighter than stock without using additional wattage), and matches the bi-xenons perfectly (not blue).
I also have Luminics rallye yellow bulbs for my fogs for poor weather driving.

One would assume you would get a HID setup that matches the power of the stock lights - hence no errors.

Sport is easy just the three torx, lux is a real PITA. The Lux also uses H11 not H7's.

Crystal Vision v Xtreme H7

Vic
I had noticed a lot of talk about the Philips Xtreme H7. Did you ever consider those and if not why not? Thanks BTW for all your posts. They have certainly been a help to me and a lot more members.

The CV are a perfect match to the stock BiXenons.

Drove down to work and fitted them right away, unfortunately I forgot to bring the camera so I snapped some crappy cell phone pics instead:

Crystal vision on the cars right fog, stock on the left.

Now I am waiting for ctgilles LED:s to match up the xenons even further, hopefully they wont turn too blue on me ..

I don't have the Bi-Xenon's so i'm not familiar with any of this. But could anyone show me what the stock foglights and headlights look like? Do they not match color-wise?

My foglights and headlights match from what I can see but I have the stock lights.

@Sentosa, I have the Philips Extreme Power in my second car and they are really great, when they first were released we sold out two whole boxes in a week.

The color is not similar to xenon in any way, but the light power (still at 55W) is kick ***.

Vic

Thanks for that. I don't have Xenon so may go with Xtreme for the heads and CV for the fogs.

Love the color of your car. What a pity that somebody doesn't make just those corner lips that appear on the AMG package as an add-on to the standard skirt.

No error codes, they are regular 55W halogen bulbs.

€38 (incl S&H) for these lights. Have bought them for the Scirocco, but I think MTECs are a good choice too at only half the price...

Have used mTec in my former cars and they are a great color match, but light output and durability is horrible.

We rarely use the fogs, actually they only get used to light up when you're making a turn. Haven't had a problem with durability but will compare the output to the CVs I ordered yesterday.
