COMAND retrofit
I plan on doing the COMAND retrofit on my 09 C300 (no MM) and have a few questions. I have been working with Bokx on this but figured others may benefit from an open thread.
I bought a Euro COMAND unit and screen, along with a universal GPS antenna. I will be updating the COMAND unit to work in the US (based on past threads). My question is what additional parts are *actually* needed. I am going to try to get whatever I need ordered tomorrow...
From what I can gather below is a breakdown of parts.
Must have
A2045405706 Screen wiring harness
A0018207675 GPS Antenna - Can do aftermarket for a fraction of the cost
A1234750120 Pad for GPS antenna x3
A2045409706 APS wiring harness -?? Can this be reused from the audio20?
A2118200088 Antenna adapter cable- Again.. can we reuse this from the Audio20??
Debatable (based on heat, life, etc)
A2119840429 Bolt for fan x2
A2048321245 Air duct
A2048320645 Air duct
A2048320545 Air duct
A2048321045 Air duct
A2048300508 Axial fan

A2048702851 Central air nozzle screen switch

go dig up the thread vic viper had when he retrofitted command on his s204..

Why reuse the stock harness when the 2045409706 is very cheap to buy?
I wouldnt consider the screen buttons optional as you would want to fold down the screen when driving in dark conditions etc.
The antenna clutch is needed as it will connect the two separate FAKRA connectors (BT and GPS) into one dual connector.
Do not know if it is possible to fit two single FAKRA.s next to eachother.

I wasnt sure if the 2045409706 was the same harness that is used on the non-MM setup or not. I will call the dealership tomorrow and have them try looking up the antenna clutch again, initially they couldn't locate the part number.
