the site said it adds around 11 hp but then other people have been saying you lose hp because of the hot air from the engine but well see i dont see how a boxed in stock filter could work better then a cold air short ram either way there is more air flow soo......

That ram setup is NOT a CAI system if it's not properly shielded. You're pulling hot engine air in and not cold air in. You will lose hp. Our cars are already built with a CAI system. If you're going to add rams, you'll want to custom fab a shielding box to go with it.

Short ram =/= cold air intake. Most cold air intakes have their filters located further away from the engine which our stock ones are because it's routed with shielding from the front of the car through the grill area to the engine. All your short ram will do is suck in air from INSIDE the engine compartment instead of outside.
I'll give you a great example. For WRX/STI's, the BEST intake system out there that's also preferred by ECU tuners themselves are.......the stock airbox. Same goes for MANY cars out there now.
But, hey, it's your car, buddy. If you want to believe an ebayer went out and dyno'ed his product and somehow the hot air gave him "11hp" then I've got some stickers to sell you that gives you 5hp each.

This nice car. black out those reflectors. CAI system. hate to break it to you but our car already have a CAI. In my opinion you should sway out your stock paper filters for some hi-flow ones. If really want performance have a tuning company custom modify your airbox. easy 18-24 hp/tq
