Anyone replaced/removed stock leather steering wheel cover?
I recently purchased 2 square yards of quality lined black Alcantara fabric for an excellent price and looking for some ideas on using it for my interior.
First I want to line the recessed area behind the rear armrest, which is hard plastic. Then I was thinking of covering the steering wheel rim with Alcantara.
On my other car I have replaced a steering wheel cover before with an Isotta two tone leather cover, which I had to manually cross stitch the cover on to the steering wheel. It was very time consuming but well worth it.
I was thinking when I remove the stock leather cover I could create a template in Alcantara. I was wondering what was under the leather cover, and want to determine if it is worthwhile to do?
Thanks in advance!
