I brought my rims in to get powder coated a few days ago. They said it would take around 2 weeks to be completely done. I am so stoked to see them when they're finished, pics will be up asap once they are back on the car...

got the rims back today. first thing i'm doing tomorrow is putting them back on the car. pics will be up hopefully very soon!
i have the upgraded 5 spoke wheels, i forget how big.
i wouldnt do anything to the c63 wheels. they're sick as is. 2 toned already, theres no need to powder coat them. out of curiosity, do you still have pics of your 04 g35 coupe? my bro has an 05 with mods and i'm sure he'd love to see yours...

- flat black vinyl layover on side mirrors
- flat black vinyl layover on the chrome around the windows
- flat black vinyl layover on the chrome strip on the trunk
- flat black rims
- removed the C350 logo (see license plate)
- smoked reverse lights

i think i am gonna lower it soon. flat blacking the grill is next on the to do list though.
you dont like the custom plates? i wanted to take off the logo on the back to make it cleaner across the trunk but i had to get something to show i drive a 350 and not a 300.

Thanks
Thank you!
I have an all black C300 and have been debating whether or not to paint my rims! This is a nice way to visualize the wheels painted black. I've been toying with the idea of giving it a red or orange lip.....or leaving a silver lip....or none. Tough call.
but your wheels look great man!

yeaaaaaaa dude do it! paint your rims, i love em so much. i thought about doing a lip on mine or doing a different color or something but i settled on the all black just because its classic and you'll never regret it. only way i suggest you get a lip is if you have other accents that are the same color. if you leave your lights red and put some other red stuff on the car and then do a red lip i think it would look good.

What to do....
So what did you do with the car while the wheels were in the shop?
The powdercoaters around here won't take the tires off for me. So I have to take the tire/wheels to another shop to get the tires taken off....then drop off the rims at the powdercoater....and then back to the tire shop to get the tires back on? Sounds like lot of work for something so simple. Wonder why the powdercoaters won't take the tires off?
In the meantime I'm supposed to leave the car on blocks until I get the tires back?

i have a family friend who owns an auto shop. he took the rims off for me and his buddy across the street took the tires off. my car sat on blocks in his lot for the 2 weeks while they were getting powder coated but luckily we were on vacation for about a week in between. it is a lot of work for something so simple, but people are lazy these days. i feel like if someone were to open a powder coating shop where they take the rims/tires off for you, they would have tons of business.

robbio - not sure i understand, you can powder coat the wheels virtually any color you can come up with. but i was debating between black, a dark charcoal gray, or color match on my car.
savage - after all the cleanup fees and disposal fees and all that, it cost a little over 700.
alexlev - actually it think i wanna do the grill all flat black. i have so many other black parts on the car now i think it needs some black on the front. also maybe get a layover for the eyelids or something.
