2009 C350--16'' wheels
Hey all, quick question---I've got 18'' AMG's on my C350, and I was wondering would 16'' wheels fit? I'm thinking about downgrading solely for ride quality. I know 17's would fit...my last 2005 C230 had 16's.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Awesome--I know most people will think I have a hole in the head..lol, but for me the ride comfort is important. I definitely think the 18'' wheels look much better though. I wonder if Brabus sells anything in 16''?

I personally think that 16" is too small... if you want a smoother ride 17" with good tires should do. It is going to be a big jump from 18" to 17" because
1) you will have higher profile tires which will result in a smoother ride
2) you can get comfort tires rather than sport tires you have right now
3) the car is formatted for a 17" or 18" setup, the car may not respond as well to a 16" setup because it will be too small for the size of the car and the weight of the car.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
As long as the OD and offset are similar, and they clear the brakes, they will work. I agree with mat2hu, the car would probably react better to 17" wheels. I don't agree that 16" will be too small because the car's size and weight.

has anyone actually seen 16" wheels on a w204 C350 Sport? MBUSA lists the US version as having 12.7" rotors and that might be a real tight fit under 16" wheels. C300 has smaller rotors.
Unless you had aftermarket wheels, all 2005 C230's came with 17" wheels standard.

Hey guys---Just drove my parents' new Lexus, and that's the kind of ride I'd love to get out my C350...I know, I'm an idiot for expecting that ride out of a performance sedan!!
That being said, the closest I can get to that kind of ride on my C350 is going from my 18'' AMG wheels (which I will be selling on here in 1-2 months) to a set of 16'' wheels with all season tires. Is that a true statement?
I talked to the parts guy at my Mercedes dealership---He said that 16'' wheels could fit on my car, though for aesthetic reasons he said he wouldn't go below a set of 17'' staggered wheels.
He gave me the following Wheel parameters for the 2009 C350:
16'' wheels: 7.5 x 16 H2ET53
17'' staggered wheels: 7.5 x 17 H2ET47 Front, 8.5 x 17 H2ET58 REAR
I have no idea what that means---When I go and purchase a set of wheels are these the specs I need to give the vendor?
Thanks a lot!

With that being said, yes, going to 16" wheels will help. I'm not sure I'd believe your parts guy at the MB dealership. I still think they won't fit or will be SUPER close.
Yes those specs are what you need, as long as they match those specs, they will fit on your car. Don't forget the bolt pattern and centerbore size.

16" wheels with same O.D. tire will improve the ride, although will not match the spring rate and shock valving Lexus provides....but your car will start to look like a roller skate.

Look into the non-AMG 17" wheels. Put some soft all-season (do not get summer only tires) staggered tires on it. Should be an improvement but nowhere near what a Lexus will feel like.

If you're interested...I took off my 17" staggered Conti Pro Contacts with less than 1000 miles and stored them since November when I bought my C300. Send me a PM if you're interested. Just have to figure out how to ship....

Any body have experience with the C300 luxury? I think the best thing to have done is to have bought that car, and just swapped out the grilles--so combination of the looks I want plus the ride.
