Need to one up somebody

Need your help
Sup guys, i need your help. Long story short, i have a cousin that i hate, who just recently bought an 01 w210 E430 and he thinks hes the ish now. Used to drive a Camry, now a Benz...acts like he doesn't know me anymore 
. So i decided that enough is enough, time to one up him. Well, I'm torn between either a 2005 w211 E500 or a 2008 c-class. Both of them have problems, though. The E500 is an old design, which is soon to be replaced, but as i observed at my cousin, an E-class is still the ish, even if its 10 years old...that stupid *****. Anyways, the new C-class is beautiful, a real neck breaker, but the only thing from keeping me buying one is its "image". I always see the c-class associated with the phrases "poor man's Mercedes," "entry level, comparable to an accord". That's not what i want to hear. So at this point i don't know what to do, give me your suggestions guys!!

yes, i have heard people say the C class is the poor man's benz.
for the last two years, it wasnt though. people used to say its for people who couldnt afford the E class, but the tech in the C class beat out the W211 E class. But now, that the new E class is out, it is again the poor man's benz. lol
with that said, I love it, and i would encourage you to buy the C class because it would be a lot better than your E class in tech and reliability

honestly most dont know the classes all they see is merk and say "wow that must of cost at 50 grand right?", what it comes down to is what u want, trying to impress or one up someone is in the end stupid and pointless, at the end of the day its what YOU want, i would go for the C cuz its newer and will keep a higher resale value in the long run, plus i like the look better, but again up to u thats just my .02

The W210's day is past and the late W211 is far superior in every way.

get the C-class. If he doesn't know much about the car, he will think the car costs like 50 or 60 grand. People always think that my car is SOOO expensive and it makes me feel like damn, I really got some bang for my buck.

I think your a moron!! You wana buy a benz for all the wrong reasons! U don't deserve to drive 1.. Sounds like its all about an image to you..I bought my c-class cuz I thought it was gorgeous and well priced.. Not 2 impress some1!

the GLK is in about the same price range as a C too. moreover outside the US, Benz also makes the A class and B class, and dont forget Smart. there are also benz vans and benz trucks, which, fine, are not cheap but at least doesnt look too 'rich'.. so ya we arent toooo poor afterall.. :P

That has to be the absolute DUMBEST reason I've ever heard to buy a car...just to try to show off and keep up with your cousin. You complain that your cousin bought the car and now thinks he's the "ish" but you're doing the exact same thing...buying a car just so you can brag to ur cousin about it. Stop being jealous and buy a car for yourself...that you actually like.

You never need to one up somebody. The question is why you want to? I sense you have some very deep seated maturity and self-esteem issues. I think you should stop thinking about cars and do a lot of introspection as to what is truly important in this life. I don't know how old you are but hope you are quite young, so this may just be a part of youth.

I know that I personally don't drive what I drive to measure up against anyone else - I/we simply have the brains to maximize value when faced with similar alternatives at the time of purchase...
