Agree with Michael, clay is the only way to get rid of the surface impurities. I'll be doing the whole palmolive, prewax cleaner, clay, polish and wax job this up coming weekend. Car needs to look good for vacation.

It is a mild abrasive that is a malable clay like substance that is used with a liquid that is used as a lube. I use Mothers brand myself. If done right your finish will be as smooth as glass. Do a Youtube search and you will find many videos on how to use it. But first make sure the car is very clean and it is a time consuming process so set a full day aside for the job.

Just to clarify....
...this "clay bar" is specially formulated for automotive paints. Although it looks similar to modelling clay it is not the same and needs to be used with a lubricant - either the stuff that comes with it or a soap/water solution - otherwise you can damage your paint.
While clay bars are readily available in most every automotive supply store here in the states, I'm not sure of their availability in Europe - I got a blank stare when I looked for one at a large auto supply house in Germany a few years back...

After claybar.. your car will be so smooth..I didn't believe it at first but after claybar I put my phone on the hood and it slid right off! too bad im too lazy to do the whole car.. and only always do the trunk, hood and top only
