WTB: Luxury Grille

I saw a lot of members upgrading to Sport and C63 grilles, so I'm guessing that someone should have an OEM used Luxury (Elegance or Avantgarde Don't know the right name) grille sitting in their garage.

I would like to buy one. Local dealer (Beverly Hills Mercedes) quoted somewhere around $400 for a new one, which is way out of my budget.
Please PM
TIA

They pop up on ebay pretty cheap from time to time. You can also google search and often find them in the $150 range. I just missed an ebay grill for $25 a few months back...was last min outbid by $5.

I bought one on ebay shortly after I bought my car for $50 and I bought another from a forum member here for even less. So you can definitely find them cheap. Like C300Sport said, check ebay, this forum and the classified forums on here.

Good luck!

Are you planning on swapping out the C63 grill and install the Lux grill? Does it fit?

Lux grill will not fit a C63.

Thank you everybody for your suggestions.

2 Ron Jr: Is this 100%? How do you know? Have you tried it? Please share!
I was at the dealership the other day and a part dep. manager told me "Both of them have the same dimensions, so they should fit (referring to C63 and Luxury grill )" I don't trust those guys at the dealerships...
Plus: check this out https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...ont-grill.html Post #22 says that an after market CF grille (C63 look) fits both. So that means C class OEM grille will fit my C63? Right?
I was also thinking if normal C class owners switch from sport to C63 grilles and from Lux to Sport, that means that C63 can be switched to Sport or Lux? Right?
If revozport can come up with something beside that CF C63 grille with a Star (something starless) I would consider it. K1 CF grille didn't fit one of the members on a C63, so that is not my option.
Thank you for your input Ron

2 Sincity: Yes, I'm thinking about it, just got my grille blacked out (vinyl wrap) And I'm not really feeling it. The work is done great but the whole concept looks cheap. I really don't like the HUGE star in the middle of the grille. So, I was thinking to switch to a starless look.

The OEM C63 grill has large gaps when used on the C300/350 so based on that a C300/350 grill should not fit a C63.

I'd have to say, the luxury grill looks even so good as the sportgrill!

Ron is correct, the standard C-Class grille will not fit a C63 and vice versa. There is a difference in size between the C63 grille and the regular C-class grille. I remember seeing pics on the site of someone who tested this out and there was a large gap between the hood and grille. Most aftermarket places make the C63 style to fit our regular C-Classes, but I haven't seen anyone make the Elegance grille for a C63.

I know what you mean, I just bought a Elegance grille of eBay and painted it colour matched to the car.

Thank you Ron Jr and Illusive
I still wonder how come Reozport grille fits both
"We've checked from the EPC manual and actually try fitting an original C63 to a W204 and they fit without a problem." from https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...ont-grill.html Post #21 So, this is not true, right?
I think the only way it to actually try it yourself.

I don't doubt that it will fit, but it will look awkward because of the gap. I'll take a picture today and post it when I'm home.

All I can say is WOW!!!
You guys (Merc F1 and Illusive) did a GREAT job. I really like painted lux grille! It looks very clean, much better than my painted (vinyl wrap and touch up paint ) OEM C63 grill.
Very nice mod!!! I find it much better than those aftermarket CF grilles ($700 - $900)....
I envy you guys.
And thank you so much for your input.

Well all I can do now is:
1. Find a cheap ($50) Lux OEM grille
2. Test fitment on my car in person
3. Maybe find a solution for proper fitment (I have no idea what can help)

Found the post that has pics of the C63 grille on the regular C:

https://mbworld.org/forums/2612888-post30.html

You can see the gap in the chrome trim as well as the top between the chrome trim and mesh. If you went from a regular grille to a C63, it will not fit due to the hood (grille bigger than the opening)

Illusive, thanks again.
I just realized that your (C350 Lux) grille is ONE piece
And my (C63 OEM) is two piece
Maybe that gap will disappear because there will be no fitment issues between two pieces? What do you think?
Ohhh and also is your grille mounted on the hood or on the bumper (I guess on the hood). This might give me a gap between grille and bumper. Hmmm
I'm confused

Yes the regular W204's are 1 piece grilles. I think our grilles would be too big for your C63. With the C63 fitted to a regular W204, there is a gap, which would indicate that the W204 grille is larger than the C63. Either grille for a regular W204 is mounted on the bumper, not the hood.

If you guys are looking for w204 luxury grill LMK. Just got mine from a guy in SoCal. It's a dealer overstock opened package. He does have quite a few in stock for $120 each but he can give you a deal if you pick it up.
