Mercedes-Benz C300 AMG Black on Black

C - Class VOICE COMMAND Help!

Hi,
I just got my C300. I imported my phone contacts into car, but can't figure out the way to use the Voice Command option on the steering wheel to make calls. When I press it absolutely nothing happens, please help!

Not sure if this helps but:
I use an iPhone 3g
The car does not have a navigation

I don't think you have voice control then, it only comes with Comand/MM and Audio 50 APS (if I remember right).

But I have the button though... you think maybe it doesn't have a function?

That button is always there, regardless of equipment, its only the MM/Comand system that use voice control, APS 50 does not.

According to the German price list option code 511 includes Linguatronic:
Audio 50 APS mit integriertem 6fach
DVD-Wechsler und Sprachbediensystem

Not sure if this is a mistake, option code 525 does not seem to have it.

Perhaps the 204 price list is correct. The W212 price list also explains no linguatronic for the "basic" Audio 50 APS but for the Audio 50 APS with DVD changer linguatronic is claimed to be included. I have tried the Audio 50 unit on a 204 but didn't even try if it had (German) linguatronic or if it had a DVD changer.

No.... It does not do anything at all. When I press it neither something happens in the display, or makes a sound.

If you read your manual, there is a star (*) indicating it talks about an optional feature. Voice control as such would be part of your head unit manual. I don't think you mentioned which head unit you have. Also would be good to know your location (market area), you could fill that to your profile.
