I have various sales engineers working in Europe, Italy, Germany, Holland, Spain, France, etc and i regulate thier monthly pay. So i am aware of what the basic salry is like in Europe. If you want to get really upset then you should consider that in the US the 350cdi base price is about US$ 51 000.

So i still feel that we are being ripped off.
Don't get so serious about this. We all drive one of the best engineered vehicles in the world name Mercedes Benz.

trust me, Portugal doesn't get the same as those other European countries. I think it clearly costs more to us, than to Aussies.

We don't have diesel in the C Class in the U.S. For 2010, the C350 starts at $39,750. The C300 starts at $33,600.

you are correct there are quite a few w204 driving around. 80% of these are company owned and given as part of a salary package to employees.

The rest are privately owned.

I am affraid you are wrong my friend. The most expensive country to buy cars in, is that s***hole of a place i live in... Denmark.....
Here we are not offered sport model - no we have to buy them.. Sport or avantgard is offerered for a price of approx 8000 us dollars alone....
A C350 cdi without 4 matic and without any upgrades leather, xenon etc. Is priced 137.000 US dollars - I am not jokeing... Take a look at www.Mercedes.dk - the price I mentioned is actually the new cheaper price since merc dropped the pricing with about 20.000 US dollars............

In Denmark we pay 180 % of the sales price in enviroment fees for our registration of new cars. It is completely insane...

My new Auto motor und Sport when listing the new engines says "Der V6-Diesel im C 350 CDI leistet kunftig 265PS, und der neue V6-Direkteinspritzer im C 350 (306PS) konsumiert rund 20 Prozent weniger."

No mention of torque figures.
