Mercedes Benz C350 CDi
I am rather excited. In April I ordered my new C320CDi, and this week I picked up my new car. However Mercedes Benz imported a C350 CDi for me. Very nice in White with AMG sports package, Dynamic Handling package and the Panorama roof. I haven't driven it much as the weather has been so bad in Melbourne. Don't want it to get wet yet!!

Thanks. According to the information from the dealer, they have altered the turbo charging and it does have slightly higher torque figures, but other than that I am told it is the same. The dealers have got a lot of information as they have not been officially released here yet. Not even on the Australian Web Site yet!

VIC by the way knows everything an MB dealer would know (at least here in Europe).
I did not check the turbo, should have looked at that.
Edited: checked the turbo, both have the same part. Actually you ordered a 204.022 car and they delivered you a 204.022 car (assuming it is a RWD model).

Thanks for the info. I won't argue with those that know. Only going on what I have been told and what I have read. According to the UK MB site, the 350CDi has 540Nm of torque whereas on the Australian MB site the 320CDi claims to have 510Nm of Torque. So there is something different.
Anyway the pricing I cannot confirm because I had originally ordered a 320 and they delivered a 350 and I didn't have to pay any more. That's how fantastic Mercedes benz are. Wouldn't happen with Holden or Ford I am sure!

I'm on the market for a 2007-2009 clk320cdi (last models) and I was checking the specs and parts on the 320cdi OM642 engine, and now the 350cdi appears.
I was intrigued and searched a little bit and it looks like:
The Mercedes engineers optimized the technology at the heart of the V6 diesel engine, reducing the compression from 17.7 to 15.5 and enhancing the turbocharger with a more efficient EGR cooling zone, switchable bypass duct, ceramic glow system, modified injection nozzles and optimized air ducting.

No Mike20 it isn't the Blue Efficiency model. Just the upgrade from the C320CDi. They will be releasing them over the next month or two here in Australia. Had it two weeks and loving it.

[QUOTE=Geoff000;3685059]the Australian MB site the 320CDi claims to have 510Nm of Torque.

Geoff000 with that amount of torque your GB must always stay in 7th gear.Do you use it at the weekend on the farm for pulling out stumps ? What is your highway fuel consumption?

2010 C 350 CDI AMG : 2009 Mini Cooper S: 2008 C63 AMG: 2009 Jetta TDI: 2007 C220 CDI: 2007 SLK55 AMG
Purchased my C 350 CDI in White with AMG Sport Pack in June 2010.
Traded in my old C270CDI. My initial expectation was substantial power increase from the 270 to the 350. I was extremely dissappointed with the Turbo lag on the 350 as opposed to the 270. I contacted AMG South Africa and was given a glimmer of hope. They recommended that after 5000km a re-map of the management system is done resulting in reduction of turbo lag by 25-30%, torgue increase of 80-100nm and power increase of 18-20kw. All this is done without affecting the motor plan and is sanctioned by Mercedes Benz.
Do you have this option available in Australia. Apparently the increased performance is inline with the specifications of the European version of the 350 and the vehicle is down tuned to the lower spec to compensate for the high sulphur content of certain brands of diesel available in SA.

Definetly an approved AMG dealer with MB Approved diagnostic software/hardware with special access passwords for remapping of existing chipsets. A normal MB dealer does not posses the passwords for the remaping. It is not a hardware change but purely a software one. I have purchased several MB AMG vehicles from this dealer in the past.
