I wish.

you'll find similar optioned MBs with less mileage in the mid to high 20s now. Depreciation sucks.

That's what I paid for a brand new 2009 last November with similar content...(manual trans seems biggest likely difference). Check Edmunds.com....but why sell? See what 100,000 or 200,000 miles feels like!

Mid $20's sounds about right, list higher so you have some room. Sucks since you just paid a lot more than that for it, but that what happens when you buy a new car and want to sell it a couple years later. The first 2-3 years are nothing but massive depreciation. Why selling it so quick, out growing it?

Not really. I've been tracking prices and fully loaded 08 c300s with less than 10k miles are going for maybe 27-29. 350s you can crack the 30s will fully loaded, but plenty of mid optioned ones also going for high 20s. Not too happy with the depreciation hit we're taking but it is what it is.

Not sure I agree. I'm on my 4th brand new car and I'm only 22. I had my first car 2 years then sold it for $5k less than I paid new. I had my second car for about a year..lost about $6k. Had my third car for almost 3 years then traded it in for about $8500 less than what I paid new. So I've lost $19,500 (give or take) in the 6 years I've been driving.

$19,500 / 6yrs = $3,250 per year/ 12mos = $270.83 per month. Not bad considering I've been driving around nice cars the whole time.

I have checked my value from time to time on Edmunds. It has actually gained a few hundred dollars over the last 6 months?? I guess the improving economy and the fact that these cars are turning out to be quite reliable has helped support our resale.

X3 and 2012 C coming soon
I checked Edmunds too. I was surprised that mine is still worth about what I paid. It still has less than 3,000 miles on it though.

no, it doesn't. It's how I'm able to have a $112,000 daily driver.
we just won't mention that it's 6 years old now.

True, sometimes depreciation is our friend...like the 2007 Aston Martin Vantage at the Bimmer Store here in Atlanta. They are willing to take $68,000 for one with 4k on the Odo.... God I love that car and I just got a home equity loan to redo the kitchen....hmmmm....better hurry up and give the money to the contracter or my girl will be castrating me soon...

i agree we are in the process of selling some of our x-loners 300 4matics p-1
with navi and around 10k on them... I think they are asking 29k with cpo and thats at a dealer. If you only keep a car for 1-2 years lease your save so much $$$$

my car is now worth $9k less after less than 2 years. And don't forget the $5k in taxes I paid on top of that... won't get that back either. I plan on keeping it forever - not wise to sell so quick just to turn around and buy another... which apparently you won't be doing anyway.
