Poll: Manual or Auto?
I am glad you included choice #3...it will be interesting to see if many people faced the same decision I did. For me, I was h&LL bent on getting a manual but would have preferred a little more equipement...easy decison really and I really don't miss all the extras (other than the fold down seat) ...not to mention it saved me a few bucks to.

I live in europe, it's all manual here. basically "grew up" with it.
Never again.
I love my auto in combination with cruise.
and if i want to "do something" i'll ride a bcycle

Cheers,
Egon

and i must say, i not even had a second regrets of it....... so next car will also be an automatic...
I would have paid $5K more if I was able to get my C350 in a manual. I hate autos and it was almost a breaking point for me on NOT buying the car.
As to buying a C300 to get the manual, I wasn't willing to give up the power. I would have went with a 328 with manual VS C300 even if it does cost more.

When my lease is up I will prob end up getting the new S4 or 335i as I want to stick with a manual, but desire more power.
although most MB buyers don't care, they'd rather have a auto.
However for the C class to go after the 3 series they really need to offer it outside of base C.
Lexus IS also did the same thing.

The MB auto tranny does downshift fast, however manual upshifts are painfully slow, I find that when I want to do shift I will manually do it but as soon as I'm floored I hold the stick to the right to put it back into auto mode since there's no point in trying to upshift, nothing like having a delay =)

The only manual I would consider is a dual clutch but Benz has no such device on offer as yet & their sequential is crap & can't take the power of the 6 cyls.
