I'm am so reluctant to add chrome to my setup, but I saw these last night on a silver 2010 E 550 and they look amazing. Very subtle, and great quality. I ordered from the same place that I've ordered my maple shift knob from. I would have ordered a steering wheel from them had I found this place earlier.

I'm kind of iffy about how they look on the black but on the silver E 550 they looked perfect.

I think they look great on a silver car. My 203 Elegance has them standard & I think the 204 painted handles look cheap without them. One of my complaints from day 1 with the 204.

I'll bet they stick them on the final facelift Elegance.

I've got the chrome door handles on, and they look awesome. It's practically to take a picture of them.. so here's my new shift knob instead! The matching steering wheel really, really, really needs to hurry!!

Magnificent!! Much better color than the early proposal you shared with us. And, I know how great that rim section feels to hang on to!

Great find Sportstick, thanks again. I'm just glad it was produced here in Germany! I'm taking the core deposit for the wheel and reinvesting it in the Schaetz Birdseye maple vent covers for the front and back. I think with that and the Carlsson leather treatment the car will look truly magnificent inside!

Did you have the leather or silver shift knob before the wood? I love that steering wheel! I wish i had a leather shifter. Its smart you take time and put thought in these mods, its coming out awesome!

Thanks, I'm definitely happy with the progress so far. I had the plastic pos shifter before, that definitely had to go!

I'd say no badges on the car makes it understatement

Hey if you ever get close to the Swiss boarder (Basle) shoot me a PM

Thanks, I've been trying to be discreet with badging, and so far it has the text "Carlsson performance" on the fenders, and the black Carlsson hood emblem. When I pop the hood, I have a carbon fiber engine cover that has the Carlsson CK 35 and emblem and it looks real nice. My caliper covers have the Carlsson logo on them, but that will probably be the end of badges.

I've been to Basel twice now for the jewelry and watch exposition, if I head that way again I'll send you a message.

So I received my "birdseye maple" AC vent covers from Schaetz, and they were gold and black. I sent them an email inquiring about how I can exchange them, and their response was they don't warranty the color matching of wood. They told me the item shipped may be gold, silver, or GREEN in appearance! They sell wood products, but they have no confidence in their ability to tell silver from green. Well, that's the end of my sales account with them. It's too bad, I thought I was on to something.

So if you're going to buy wood, remember.. buyer beware.

EDIT: I received my Lamin-X taillight covers today, but they say you need to apply with a heat gun so I'm hoping the weather warms up. I might rent a garage bay again like i did for my brake calipers (the fronts are finished btw, will post pics soon). I also spoke with the sales department from Lamin-X since I did not receive film for my side markers when I ordered my headlights. If you didn't get them either as they were not including them for several months, you should email them because they are sending me a free set.

So Mercedes is basically begging me to do my interior conversion and I've found that I can get Connolly Nappa leather instead of the inferior Mastik leather that Brabus and Carlsson use. This is nice because Connolly does the auto leather for just about every premium car from Mercedes to Bentley and their Nappa is what they use in the Maybach. I'm working out the details now, but as soon as I figure out how much I'm going to do (debating having the entire headliner done in silver-grey leather) and Mercedes gives me a solid price, I'm ready to order my leather and turn in my car for conversion!

The knob was around 90 euro, and the steering wheel was around 650 euro plus core trade in.

You will not be sorry with Connolly. I've done my Jag with biscuit Connolly & it's fabulous!

Yeah, I've been putting some swatches from them through the rounds and today the dealership let me test drive a special edition "2LOOK" SLK that has black and white nappa interior and it was really great. I'm really excited now, but the installer that does the leather is in Switzerland, won't be back for a week, and I've got to wait on him to get the price!

Added bonus: I'm using the Nappa swatches and my Dremel to convert my Blackberry to matching leather as well! I'm using my old Blackberry as a trial run but the back was pretty easy. I'm just waiting for my Dremel to recharge before I tackle the front, which looks to be much more challenging but possible!

OK, Mercedes is dragging their feet and still haven't given me a price, so I've shot an email to my Carlsson rep to begin my order. I basically told them if they still want to do it at their asking price, they are going to have to use the Connolly leathers, and I'm pretty sure they will oblige. Here's what the final product will look like.. I'm having the spots where the Mercedes leather is currently on the door done in silver.. and I've got a guy who runs a crush yard for exotics keeping a watch for a set of AMG seats. Once I get those, I'll get them redone to match the picture, and hopefully I'll be done.
