The below text is a quote from Vic Viper on another thread after he installed a real C63 steering wheel:
"The steering wheel is now mounted, a pleasant surprise is that the C63 wheel is a bit smaller in diameter than the stock sport wheel, almost one inch smaller.
The C63 wheel is also about half the weight of the stock wheel![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Guess it will take some time getting used to the flat bottom steering wheel while driving, but it feels really good the short time I have tried it so far, will shoot some pics when the lighting gets better.. "
I guess at $799, I would be happy even without that inch!

Looks like something out of MAZINGER Z! ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
You just can't compare to the C63 wheel. The thing is tiny. They should make that a factory option.

Actually, I like the C63 too. But, three things I considered:
~$1500 vs $799
Smaller diameter rim blocks even more of cluster, which I do like to be able to see. I already lose the top of the speedo at my height.
These are pretty hard to tell apart if not side by side.

Just got an email that my one-off Performance Products sport steering wheel arrived in the US from Germany. I should have it by the end of next week.
As soon as it's installed, I will post pics.
All you 3-spokers....stay tuned!

IT'S HERE!!
The new three spoke C63-style Sport wheel from Performance Products arrived this morning
. Workmanship is excellent...perf leather wrap stitching on the bottom back side is so symmetrical! Seams are straight, tight, and flush. There are very nice subtleties such as finger ridges built in between about the 11 to 1 position for grabbing the top, and ridges for the bottom two fingers when holding at 9 and 3 and thumb base is against the palm pads. It is the same diameter as the original, but just holding it in space, the flattened bottom does make it seem to create more leg space.
I am waiting for the Euroteck diffuser to arrive any day now and will drop the car off at our nearby customizing shop. The diffuser and those Ebay molded mudflaps will be installed painted bodycolor and the wheel will go on at the same time. Pictures to follow.....

Wheel Installed - New Pics!
The Performance Products 3 spoke Sport wheel is installed. It took the great guys at MotorWerks about 10 minutes total, with about 4 for resetting the air bag codes after the dis- and reconnect. The OE airbag hub fits perfectly, as it should, as the new wheel has an OE core.
These photos may show the rim thickness better. I am 6'2" and have fairly long fingers, but only my middle finger just about reaches around to touch the base of my palm. The wheel feels great!!
BTW.......OE 3 spoke rim for sale!
