Bug splats seem excessive

Seems to me that on the C300, I spat more bugs on the windshield than I ever did on my Buick LeSabre....quit laughing.

What's your experience?

The bugs see our cars and cant help but ending their lives on the windshield of a Mercedes.

^ ^ True fact. I had a conversation with a fly about this once.

I've noticed the same thing...definately more than the previous cars...driving slower at night helps a bit but does not eliminate them totally...very annoying after just washing the car..

Have you considered that you likely drove the Buick at lower speeds? (or certainly should have! )

lol

I think I may have sped more with the LeSabra. The C300 looks like its speeding standing still.

no..but i have noticed a LOT more rock chips on the hood up this car then any of my other cars.

I already have more chips on my 9 month old C300 than i did on my 2.5 year old Cooper S when i traded it in.

Yeah after one year of ownership(bought new), we had to respray my mom's 04 SLK hood and front bumper from all the rock chips!!!!!!

It is white but you're going to have to explain the bird crap.

can't explain it.. haha just from observation. Always tend to get more bird crap on the c300 compared to the GLK and CLK which aren't white. But that could probably be due to the c300 being driven more..

I noticed the bugs, too... Might have something to do with the low Cd of this car and high grille... Not much there to create a strong upsweep of air to blow the bugs up over the windshield.

I get more bugs when I drive near a lake......hmmmm.....wonder what effect the water has on my car to make it more attractive to bugs?

I would bet this is just perception. The fit and finish on the MB is so sharp that everything stands out more, and you notice it more than you would on your LeSabre. And it probably bugs (no pun intended) you more when it's not Spotless and Bible Black.
