VHT Nightshades
Anyone have experience tinting tail lights with VHT Nightshades?

I found a place to tint my tail lights in Chicago, a body shop (Gold Coast), but they said I'd have to supply the paint. I came across this stuff on eBay. I don't want it pitch black, more of a dark cherry look. Also, I want it glossy. Any input is appreciated. I also saw a spray from Japan, not sure if it's really the same thing or not.

I looked at the same product. It looked like it would Black-out the tailight-not tint it. The body shop you brought your car should be able to provide the paint. Most shops just spray a gray which has been thinned out.

Hey Sigfreak, thanks for the advice. This place I talked to said the paint they have would make the brake light not visable. I've been wanting to do this for quite some time. There is an autoart by my parents house but they said it would be $400, and the jon's tinted tails would require me to mail them to him, which sounds like more trouble than it's worth since I can't drive without them. So I thought this would be the best solution. I found another type online, not sure if this will be the same issue of being a "blackout" rather than tint, because I do want a little bit of red in it (not pitch black).

Yes. That looks right. It says it for the "smoked" look. As long as it doesn't say "blackout" you should be ok. I saw a spray advertised that said it was semi-permanent. It would stay on through washing and weather but could be removed with rubbing alcohol if needed. I'll see if I can find that again.
