Using our LEDs for brake lights?

I'm always brainstorming ideas, many of them bad and this could very well be one of them, but was just thinking how we could get more use out of the LEDs in our existing tail lights. Since as we know the only LEDs we have are used for turn signals, what if we were to utilize these as brake lights as well? I found this module that will convert your turn signals to brake lights, but would give priority to the turn signals when in use.

Fairly cheap @ $54, but I wonder if there is a way to get an oem style connecter to hook up to the wires on the module and make it plug 'n' play? Anyway, just an idea, maybe I should stop tinkering and leave well enough alone
