Winter Wheels Help

Winter Season has came and I am really frustrated picking wheels for my C350 4matic.

What is the lowest offset I can go and is 17" the smallest I can go in order to give enough brake clearance ?

Will 40mm offset work ? 45mm ? 50mm ?

I really need help

I do have 1'' elegance wheels as winter setup as you can see in my signature. My dealer told my there are only one or two MB rims that would fit with the sport brakes.

Offset will be dependant on width of wheel. 17" is a safe bet however there are several posts on here about 16" and claims some will fit. The bigger issue to me is to find non-staggered 17" wheels in order to rotate the wheels from time to time. If you go to your manual you will get figures for your wheel offset, you can then use a wheel offset calculator from the net and enter your OEM figures and new wheel figures. It will calculate the difference for you and you can then judge on your own.

OE 17" is 7.5x17 ET47 front 8.5x17 rear staggered.
Tirerack wheel fitment should provide you good ideas what off set would work for after market wheels.

I bought Sport Edition SE14 wheels 17" 45mm offset. Based on Tirerack, these will clear the big brakes. I haven't mounted them yet.
