2008 Mercedes C300 4Matic
Rearview Mirror Upgrade
Hey guys, as many others I didn't get the premium package, hence I don't have the garage door opener and compass. I was wondering if I use these part numbers:

A204 810 26 17 with color code 7E94 for gray and 9051 for black

Codes:
232 Garage door opener
245 Trip Computer / compass
249 Inside and outside mirror automatic dimming

Does anybody know how much would the total cost be for the parts and is it a huge job for MB techs or just a small job that would only take an hour or so?

The cost for a left outside mirror glass is about US $730. Just for the glass. And there will be a new wiring harness needed.

This is for the inside rear view mirror. (The one in the center of the car, above the dash)

Thanks for the info. I think I might end up doing it, its very useful feature to have and will definitely increase the resale value of the car slightly.

maninblack; I looked into retrofitting the 2009 Rear view mirror into my 2008 and apparently there is an extra signal that originates in the Comand HU, that somehow is routed to the Mirror or it will not work. I did not research it any further, as I was under the impression that it required a body harness modification. Suppossedly the 2008's do not have this signal routed to the Mirror. Additionally the connectors are different from what I remember.

However, if you are successful, i will probably go for it to. You can get a working Rear View mirror used for ~$100 the last time I checked with the Auto recyclers.

Dunno about the increased resale value for adding the mirror.

Anyways, yeah I heard from a parts department that it was not possible as well because of the different wiring harness or some crap. But It might be straight forward if we can get the mirror from an 08.

the quickest way is to put a small sticker over the light sensor on the rear view mirror
