Multimedia Upgrade/p2?

Hi everyone i'm sort of new to all of this, but i recently purchased a 09 c300 with p1 and 7spd upgrade, i was in quite a rush when we bought the car, and actually didnt know much about p2 having bi-xenon lights and not having nav which ended up to suck. The salesman was somewhat just looking for commision and didnt explain to me what these were, now im stuck looking everywhere to try and see if i can upgrade to multimedia package or to see if i can find some kind of halogen bulb that will make the lights more white/blue brighter. Can anyone help? Id really appericiate any recomondations. thanks a lot.

There is a dealer add on called Universal Media Interface (UMI) that adds navigation and multimedia functions to the basic audeo system. It costs around $2100. I had it done and I'm very pleased with it.

Do a search on "UMI" and you'll find more info here.

For your benz with Halogen lights, you have to order a conversion kit. You cant put Bi Xenon lights in headlights desinged for Halogen. Bi Xenon conversion kit and lights will run about $300.

Another option is to install halogen bulbs which looks like HIDs. Examples of such bulbs are Philips Crystal Vision etc

Ahh i have heard of this, so is there a difference in the color, as if i were to compare the hid kit to an actuall c300 w/ p2 package? and also is it safe to install, will it flicker or even cut off after some time? thanks a lot for all the replies, and i also wanted to ask what is a good number i should order, for ex. 5000k, even stated in the last reply a phillips crystal etc? what do you guys recommend i buy? thanks a lot

Well if you were to compare a hid kit with the oem bi-xenon you would have to actually compare alot of factors. Most obvious would be the output of the stock xenon to be about 4300k whereas aftermarkets hid's are usually 6000k which gives you a pure white with a little bluish tint colour. If you were to change to the philips halogen bulbs, it is very safe and would not cause any problem at all. as for the hid kits i believe you will need to do a little bit of cutting and you would need error cancellers for them to run properly. For the light output it depends on you personal preference. Cystal Vision Ultra is 4000k and is closest to stock while Diamond Vision is 5000k which is pure white with a slight blue tint. I ended up with diamond vision though =p

I've posted the pics before.. Try using the search feature for matching bi-xenon with foglights.
