ECU Tune

Yes another thread for an ECU tune haha. But anyways, I just recently did some research on finding a tuner in Canada and I actually came across a company called "3S Autosport". They are based in Vancouver (even better!) and they are mobile, which means they will come to your location to do the tune. I did email them and they are in fact using the "Singh autosport" system. So to be sure I went to the Singh website and in the blog a while back they did actually announce 3S Autosport as a dealer/tuner for their products.

Anyways, I emailed 3S and they told me they could tune the car for $545 USD, and the gains would be ruffly 20hp and 20lbs tq. Has anyone had any previous experience with them? Or Singh? I heard good things on the C63 forum about them. The reason I would like to go with 3S is that they are local and have it done the same night.

hey Micropower let me know more details about it. I would look into this tune instead of the Kleemann.

I would have to definitely get a before and after dyno.

Honestly I think at the end of the month. Yeah I'm local so they'll be able to do the tune in person which is a really big reason I'm choosing them. But I've also heard good things.

I was too but honestly I haven't heard of anyone having any warranty problems since the tuning is through some port and not by taking the ECU unit apart. (From what I believe)

It absolutely can be detected. If you are worried about warranty use the Carlsson tune, as they will warranty everything voided by the Mercedes warranty.

I am pretty sure that they need to open the ECU, on their website they dont mention that they can do it via the OBD port (they do mention that with other vehicles)

Rev Competition in richmond does Powerchip (they open up ECU) and Carlson tuning as well.

I've also heard that our cars need to have their ECU physically opened up. Another member here reported that when he received his ECU back you could tell that it have been pried open. My dealer already told me if they see an ECU with pry marks they can/will flag your car in the system...

Still considering doing it, but I'm waiting for the Kleemann headers to become available before making my decision.

I've been told by them it is done through the OBD port. Though I'm not 100% sure. Ok I just checked with Rev Competition and their tunes are only for C63's .

They will have to open up our ecu bc the cable they use for tunning wasn't made yet. Will be getting my 3Sautosport tune today. @ Time Square In NYC

Who is doing it?

How much did it run? and can you please please please post up a detailed analysis of what you think? Low end torque / delay / 0-60 / 30-100, and just how the car feels in general. I am interested.

How are you getting it done by them? They are located in Vancouver not Times Square...

How about a before and after dyno to put avoid any subjective speculation/data . A true objective data point that everyone can understand and rely on would be to see the change on same dyno.

I almost had a truck in my trunk today while doing a pass (damn lag). There are days were i have no complaints and then on other days the lag is a bit more noticable.

So looking at the ECU, can you see it has been opened /modified? Let us know how it feels?

Okay i installed my ECU today and took it out for a ride i can say it response quickly when you press down the gas pedal esp in the mid range and high end. I have a 6spd and downshifting makes it even better pushing me against my seat. Singh Austosports told me to give it 100 miles so the ECU can learn my A/F and etc etc. rev limiter has been removed and will be dropping in some K&N filters.

Did they say how much hp or tq gains you got around? You should do a dyno.

I also got the tune done by him on saturday.. I took a little trip 2 time square.. It was simple and didn't have the down time of shipping it out! Cheaper than any other company.. He claims 20 hp/tq.. He only has dyno's for the 350..but I can say I noticed a difference in the mid-high range rpm.. Not soo much in the low end.. My car is 4matic soo mayb cuz its a lot heavier..also it took away the flat spots, noo hesitation between shifts.. Its worth it if your trying 2 improve the performance of your car.. And all the c63 guys out there!! He's claiming 85hp for your cars, he has dynos 2 prove it! That's insane!! 85 hp! WTF! I'm jealous

How much did you pay for the tune? Did he guarantee against stealership reflashes?
