When can I claim for vandalism?

When can I claim for vandalism?
So apparently, I found out my car got key across the hood, left side doors (driver and passenger) and the trunk. Is it possible to claim for vandalism and get a whole paint job for the car or just the panels that were mess up?

They will only paint the damage area, if you want to do a whole new paint job on the car, go ahead and damage areas where it is not damage 
. I hate to see cars getting keyed, it is almost just as bad as getting in an accident.

I went and talked to someone who owns a body shop and they said it's better to damage the other two panels, so I can repaint the whole car b/c the texture of the paint will be different oO. Anyways just for head up to anyone who lives in San Francisco.... Do not ever leave your car in Metreon Parking lot... or anywhere in Downtown. People have no respect for property
