Euro Avantgarde BADGE INSTALLED (I Like It!) - Crappy Cell Phone Pics Shared
Got my European style Avantgarde badge today in the mail and slapped it on the left side of the car in its factory location on the front drivers side fender. It came with double stick tape already on it, and was shipped from China for only $8
I believe the c class in europe comes standard with this badge on all sport model c class cars... I like the way it looks, as it gives the car a nice little something extra that catches your eye when looking at what would be an otherwise plain side profile that almost looks too plain...
In my opinion, it adds a nice touch, and differentiates you from the stock US c class crowd, while not being a poser badge at the same time and retaining the Euro OEM look
Will post better pics once real camera is charged....

In the UK we have 3 lines, the SE, Elegance and Sport. That badge comes standard on the Elegance and it reads 'Elegance'. That was the only one of the line up that had the side badge until the bluefficiency models were released. So if you buy a blueff model regardless of which line it is, there'll be a badge on the side that reads 'Blueefficiency'. Over here you can request for line omission when you order your car but I am not sure if you can request for this side badge to be omitted as well.

In Europe there are 3 styling packs : CLASSIC . ELEGANCE and AVANTGARDE
the classic one is the weakest one and includes almost nothing while the ELEGANCE and AVANTGARDE are pretty much the same thing depending on what you want from your car ...
The elegance pack has the 7 line grill and the MB star is on the hood (RR style ) while the avantgarde has the 3 line grill with the big star in the middle .There are also other differences like the door handles which come in chrome for the elegance and for the avantgarde they come the same color as the car with a small chrome stripe and also some chrome ornaments around the fog lights.
You have very beautiful car but the avantgade badge is pretty common in europe

Actually not sure if an Avantgarde with AMG package (which is essentially what a 'Sports' model in US or UK is) in mainland Europe would still have the Avantgarde badge - I suspect not. In that sense it might be a bit strange sticking it on (not very OEM)...
Anyway I have it on my car (a plain Avantgarde) too, despite requesting it not to be installed (think it's a bit naff to be honest). It was listed as an option not to have it, but when I came to collect the car they told me this was not possible after all. And apparantly the 'real deal' version of this is actually screwed onto the body panel. At least that's what they told me and I have no interest in finding out whether it's true - I don't mind it *that* much to risk damaging the body panels!

I must be in the minority when it comes to cars; I know what I drive and do not care if other people recognize it or not. I remove all the badges I am able to which are "taped" on because IMO the cars look cleaner and are easier to clean and wax.
I liken it to the people who buy Corvettes and than add Corvette license plate frames, tail-light emblems, exhaust emblems, Corvette jackets and hats, etc. Kind of reminds me of the old Friends sitcom where Joey T. pretends he has a Porsche under a car cover.

In Asia,
Elegance has the wood trim.
Avantgarde has the Aluminum trim and Sports suspension (Agility control).
Now that i have replaced my wood with the aluminum and lowered my car, i can safely replaced the Elegance badge too...

I can only speak for the Japanese market on that one...
The C300 Avantgarde S is the highest trim line available here, except the C63. (No C350s.) The Avantgarde S has several AMG parts, including pedals, wheels, paddle shifters on the steering wheel (for use in M mode), etc. and has lower profile tires, stiffer suspension and higher bolsters on the seats, if I remember correctly. There are prob. a few other items I don't readily recall.
