Do you get service B when the car says to go in or by the mileage? I thought service A was at 12,000, and B was at 24,000. At least for my 2008 C350. I had service A done at 8000 miles during an warranty repair since I was already there and now the computer's going to say I need service B way before 24,000 miles. Thing is, my lease runs out at 22,000 miles. I don't see why I should take it in for service B since then I'd returning the car right away. Do I need to take it in at that time or just ignore it?

Thanks MondayQB for the info. I bought my car from Euromotors in Bethesda and will probably take it there for services.

You're welcome. I bought mine there too. I think Euromotocars at Bethesda is the best one in terms of sales and services. I will stay with them from now.

:-)

Good luck and drive safe.

I just got my car back from euro motors in germantown and they only charged me 425. I was confused but I kept quiet. That included replacing wipers, doing trunk lid replacement TSB for my 08, and a TCU flash to the latest update.

I'm happy!

Thanks for the info MondayQB. You're right, its not worth the hassle of going so far away to save so little. I'm going to first check with Herb Gordon since I live close to them.

jaeguyoon - how much did they initially quote you? Did you have a coupon also?

They quoted me around 590 for serv B and I think 80 for wipers (I know...a ripoff). I think the cashier honestly made a mistake.

And I did have a coupon for 15% off.

wow why dod you people go to stealerships? most of this can be done your self.
Oil change takes about 30-45 mins cost $100 for the 8Qt + oil filter.
Brake pads 20 mins each thats on the jack with out a lift, 85bucks per pair.
Cabin filter 15 bucks takes 5 minutes to install.

I think it's more of a convenience issue. If I had time to do it i would. But I'm taking 18 credits and run a business so time is the biggest issue for me.

I know what kinds of services are going to be done ... Does it really worth about $600? (sounds like a stupid question though). Give me any comment or advice or suggestion. I need encouragement or discouragement ... I am hesitating to call the dealership for appointment. :-(

Is it okay to change oil and air filters? :-(
I paid $299 at Schumacher in the Phoenix area. They are ripping you off. There have to be better prices in your area.

It matters not how much Service B costs but what to be done by Service B. And the rate of labor fee is one of factors deciding the total price.

$600 seems like way too much. My brother's previous car had Service D done and that was $500.

Just took my car in for my B service today (it says B1 on my dash, whatever that meant).
My car is exactly 2 years old now and has 10,500 miles. The service is going to cost me $465.

They are going to fix my squeeky power folding mirrors (which was fixed last service for free with the TSB) and I got a nice 2009 C with navigation as a courtesy car.

You guys in California have it lucky with the cheap maintanence.

I don't know it is cheaper in all of CA.

I just had a service C (B + brake fluid flush) done using coupon for $499. Service B with a coupon - $399.

first of all, RON, 400 for rear brake pads...dude, ka'mon! your front pads wear out LONG before your rears... do you know how to look and see the amount of pad left? are there any indentations in your rear rotors...if you rub your finger along the surface of the disc can you feel a lip or is it smooth? i doubt very much that your rear pads were shot before your fronts...unless brake stands are a common occurrence. Plus I doubt they took the time to bed them in properly...did you ask if it had been done?

get the oil changed...they are recorded...oil changes at the dealership should be about 130 if you don't want to do it yourself. if you do it yourself then reset the service indicator in the secret menu. you won't get a service due in "x" amount of days any more.

if you can't change your own wiper blades than you deserve to pay whatever the dealer quotes.

brake fluid flushes at 20k? really? i mean, i guess if your tracking the car and that fluid is boiling half the time then okay.

i am in no way saying that getting your service done at the dealership is wrong or silly, especially if its still in warranty because the obvious statement here is…when you go to sell or trade the fact that a dealership did the work is a huge price point to potential buyers/dealerships…but that doesn't mean get raked over the coals at every corner either. be informed...know what exactly what they are doing and what it "should" cost.

just a little insight as to where i'm coming from...yes, every dealership is different, owned by people with a wide range of ethics, diverse demographics and regions. however, MY dealership in particular is run by the two old guys from the muppets that sit up in the balcony and give sh*t to everyone while rarely knowing what their talking about.

for instance...when i asked how much they would charge me to remove the resonator and weld in an x-pipe (welding is about the only thing i wouldn't do myself) they responded by saying, "these cars don't have resonators." they also put directional summer tires on backwards. how does that even happen...THEY ARE STAGGERED!! they have never once been able to replicate a problem even though it is a 100% of the time problem, not one that comes and goes. they actually LOST my car once....FOR A WHOLE DAY! for that i was offered a bunch of free stuff, maintenance, ect, i took none of it.

I know i'm rambling but they actually lost and then lied about it my car when it was in production. i had sold my M3 because my 204 was to be delivered in a week. it turned out it hadn't even been built yet! I called SEVERAL times to confirm everything was on schedule…they said it was. so i had to scower the north east and get find a similarly built car....ended up driving to long island...i'm from boston. so there is 600 miles i had to put on a brand new car in 1 day!

sorry for the rant but MB's are just car's. they are in the upper echelon, i have one, i love it but these dealerships and services are grade A phooey! The cars cost the same across the country, for the most part but the services are double and triple the costs?! Gimme a break!
Old thread, but I had to repost the above. Makes a lot of sense, and can save you thousands of dollars. B service, $600 on a 6 cylinder? Shameful.

Any advice?
Which dealer quoted you the $325? I'm about 8 months out from Service B (already had brake fluid changed in June) and have been planning to check MB of Annapolis and some indy shops for the best service and price.
