Vic,

Have you installed the LED fogs yet? Is it a direct plug n play setup or do we need to make any mods?

Now it looks like other companies are just slapping LEDs wherever they can just to follow Audi's trail rather

It's how every single industry works. If something attracts the customers eyes, they'll want to keep that trend going or imitate the trend created by another brand. Same thing with LED tails. They're all pretty mainstream now to the point where people have forgotten who first pioneered them. In terms of LEDs, Mercedes is going along with Audi, along with a few JDM brands and hell, even Korean brands like Hyundai-Kia. If you've seen the new Kia K5, K7, and Sportage (Pretty sure the K5 and K7 go by different names in America), they now have a swooping light bar or LEDs in the headlight housing. Sure people call it an Audi imitation, but then again, the head of design for Audi now works for Kia...sooo.. It's a cycle. Dating back to the days of....I don't even know. Ford pioneered the automobile. I guess every other brand on the market today is just copying them too.
