popping sound from front end when braking
For the past couple months, when a moderate to large amount of brake pressure is used, theres a popping sound coming from the front end of my 08 C300 from about 25mph and below when coming to a stop. It's worse if the road is bumpy or badly maintained. It sounds like something is loose!
I took it in to the dealer for this a few weeks ago, and they said that Mercedes knows of this but there is no fix for it yet. I find this very hard to believe! I have almost 17k miles on my car.
Does ANYONE else have this problem?! thanks

I'm sure its not directly related but on a similar note, I hear a popping sound coming from the rear of my car when I accelerate on bumpy roads. I also feel it in the car so surely something is loose. I'm guessing it could be my bushings.

Check the castor/control arm bushes for cracks - known problem. Check the sway bar bushes & links. Check that the steering rack bolts are tight. Finally - lie under the car & listen to the steering rack while someone turns the steering gently from side to side. Could be a rack bush. Benz have replaced quite a few racks under warranty for popping noises.
