Dash Panel for Headlights - new DIY project?
Hello,
on the W204 the dash switch that controls the headlights/fogs does not light up to the appropriate spot (so in the dark you have to remember which position the park lights are, main light etc. ). Some may like it that way. but am sure there are lots that prefer it lit up.
Could someone suggest a way to get it illuminated again so that it does light up. I will post some pics so we can be on the same page. Would be an interesting DIY project if someone has already tried it. After reading posts, most seesm to think thatthe connections are still there but...

all previous posts indicate that c lcass post 2004 comes with unlit bezels. Seems MB either went el cheapo or for some 'safety' reason removed the backlight.
What I am interested in is finding a way to remove the switch and maybe hook up an LED on the back..seems too easy!

On 2009 and 2010 it shows on the guages.
I personally don't like it as the green headlight symbol does stand out from the rest of the guages eventhough it is rather small.
