We use the D1S on our W204's with the Premium 2 Package. And yes, the bulbs are normally that expensive. :/ There's a difference between the HID kits and the xenon bulbs dadangman is currently referencing. For HID conversion kits I'd go to DDMTuning. For D1S Bulbs, I'd go wherever the price/quality is the best. The range of D1S bulbs available is rather....narrow.

I would go for DDM kit if they actually ship to Brunei. I've check out the stores in Brunei for such a kit but there is none. To be exact there is nothing in the market for cars which throws out error codes. The best kit I came across is the Philips Conversion kit but I don't know whether this requires error cancelers or not and hence the search for a real plug and play kit which is reliable.

Prius; 2010 E350 Coupe P2, Appearance Package
For my taste, I would not go with 8000K, way to blue in appearance and reminds me of the Honda Civic kids racing around with their coffee can exhaust. 4300K is more of a white light. The real blue lights scream after- market.

Actually i've been searching for a set of Philips 6000Ks but it seems all are out of stock. Sellers who have them won't ship them to India. So i bumped into this company called GARAX, completely unheard of. I just wanted to know if anyone on the forum could possibly be knowing about the same and give me an opinion.

I was really debating on swapping out my D1S bulbs for Philips, same color temp. I know everyone that retrofit HID always use Philips bulbs as it gives out a nicer white blue color instead of a white yellow color that Osrams give. I got a deal for two Philips D1S bulbs OEM color 4300k for $95. Debating if I should swap it out or not. I liked the way my TSX and S2K looks as they all use Philips bulbs. Not sure if it the color shifts or not but there definitely no yellow. What do you guys think?

Royce, it does not light up as much ground as the stock, as someone said here, anything that is tinted and filtered will always looose some lighting. The stock halogens are also more noticeable because of the yellow color comparing with our xenons so you know it there where the CV somewhat flushes in with the whole beam. I hope I made sense.

Haha took me a while to understand what you meant but yea at the end I do understand what you were trying to say. I think my last call would be to install the HIDs from Xenith Xenons.

Here's a pic of the Xenon white eyelids from iJDM. This is the best one I took I think. It shows what the color actually looks like.

Well i've ordered the same pair from iJDM itself. Shall arrive to me within a week or so. Though i want to order a pair of D1S bulbs, but not pretty sure about their quality(Long term usage). I mean i just hope they don't mess up the OEM HID system.

Sorry for the late replies, I've had limited access to the internet for some time and just got it back up. Thanks for all the information everybody, much appreciated.
Anyway, I was wondering Asianguy if you had any night time pics of those lights from the drivers point of view and how well they lit up the ground?
Thanks again.

Hey. To be honest, the main reason why i'm shifting to Philips 6000K is because of the white light with a light bluish tint to it. My C230 came fitted with Osrams which actually burn at 4250K. I personally haven't used the Philips 4300K, but the 6000K is my choice. They look amazing, and there is negligible loss of illumination if you compare it with the 4300K

Thanks for the input Nik, is it true that all hid bulbs will have a color shift over 100hrs etc. So let say if the bulb is 6000k from the start, will it shift to 6200-6300k over time? Which is now more of a blue color. Im wondering if Philips makes better bulbs than Osrams simply because many people uses Philips.

If you're just ordering bulbs for a bulb swap I doubt they would do anything at all to the rest of your lighting system if by some rare chance of fate, something does go wrong. I'd go with them if you want. Many of us on the forums have tried generic/no-name brands apparently, and I'm expecting some D1S bulbs soon too (not from JDM, but a friend). If I get em in soon I'll post em. And in case you're worrying about warranty, the dealer needs to prove that, if anything goes wrong, the lights were the main cause of the malfunction at hand. They can't just void a warranty ***** nilly.

Nik is yours a Philips Hid conversion kit or do you have the bi-xenon option and switched the stock bulbs out with Philips 6000k?

I'm afraid the answer to that question is yes. But it is very negligible. For example a 4000k would shift to 4200K after about 100-200hrs of use. Some manufacturers claim of no color shifting in their respective bulbs, but i don't know how many of them actually have that proved. Talking about Philips and Osrams, they're pretty much the same. The only difference is the brand value; sort of like comparing a Mercedes to BMW

I am a dealer myself so i'm least worried about warranty. However, what i don't want is the whole system to get spoiled because of BULBS that cost nothing! But i'm going to try the iJDMs after all. The people from Philips have the 6000s out of stock and i've no patience left in me!

I have a Bi-Xenon option. In India, the Avantgarde versions come equipped with Bi-Xenon clusters with H7 halogens as High-Beams! So i'm just going in for stock replacement bulbs

They're available on the internet. But not many are Genuine. I'm posting two links here for you, but these guys don't have the 6000K bulbs; out of stock. 2-3 Weeks availability time!

I would further like to clarify here that, now all W204s in India come equipped with Bi-Xenons as they're now a part of the Indian Standard Package (ISP). Except the Classic version; which is the manual transmission.
