What to do if i leave the car for about 6 weeks?
Hello everyone,
Im about to be away from home for about 6 weeks
Is there anything i need to do to make sure the car will start properly?
The car will be left in a garage, so there'll be no problem with temperature or weather.
Should i unplug the battery?
is it possible that i'll still have a flat battery even its unplugged?
i dont really have a charger or anything to charge it up if the engine wont start
cheers

6 weeks is nothing. If the battery is healthy all should be fine. If you are worried buy a cheap trickle charger. No other lay up precautions necessary. Don't disconnect the battery - you will have to resynch everything. My car has spent half it's life standing for longer than that while I've been on international business travel. Never had to call Merc Assistance.

Nothing really, I kept it for 5 weeks on the airport (open park) in October/November - temp. around 7 deg. cent. When I came back, it started like I just switched it off.

i know from a true story that it's ok to leave your car for as long as 10 weeks.
don't disconnect the battery, you're going to loose your alarm system.
i also recommend a car cover if you have a dusty garage. it also makes you feel safer at least.
