lots of W204s in Toronto!
I was in Toronto for Christmas and I can't believe how many W204's I've seen on the road there. Most of them were white (and many in black).
In sharp contrast, I don't see many of them here in Denver, which is just fine by me.

I hear you on that. It totally sucks. I go to school about an hour southwest of Toronto, and my car is probably one of a few in the town I'm in. However, as soon as I get on the highway to T.O. there are new C's left, right, and centre. Totally makes me feel like my car is no longer unique haha...But hey what are you gonna do. There is a large Oriental population here, and we all know how much the AZN's love status and what better way to prove yours than by driving a Mercedes Benz.

It's all the folks who were driving Civics (Toronto's unofficial transportation system!) back in the 90s

Didn't mean to stereotype at all. If you've ever been to Markham, Ontario you would understand what I mean. Perhaps this only applies to the freshly arrived/first generation Asian-Canadians. I don't know. I am not a doctor. But you can't deny that the Chinese in particular have a love affair with the brand.

I've noticed that Canadians like to categorize individual people into groups to help them understand differences from themselves.
(Yes, this is intended as an ironic statement.)

i'm not pointing this out to put you on the spot Train, but why all of us have a Benz anyways? think about that =P well we can't say it's not b/c of the brand.. obviously yes... but also for the comfort/feel/or watever/and status too.. And i do know that asian people love the status i'm Vietnamese =PP but all i'm saying is that we all buy things b/c there's something appealing to us about it..
Also, i think asian people have a double standard on these types of stereotypes.. If I buy a Japanese car, people will call me a ricer, if i get a benz "ooo he must like the status" EITHER WAY SUCKS!! lets just go get an american car then we all can be happy hahaha =P

Aren't cars in Asia insanely expensive?
So cars on this side of the pond are considered a steal in comparison so why not get a Benz for a price of a Honda overseas?

percisely! My family lives in Russia, which is the number one consumer of Mercedes Benz in the world, and a C class like mine costs 60 thousand American dollars there. And it is the C200 Kompressor version. Border tariffs are insane. When my father came over to visit he bought an S Class and a new GL just because he felt like it was a steal. And he doesn't even live here. One day I hope to have enough cash to ball out like that. For now my C class is costing me enough in insurance alone lol..

And just recently I watched a TV interview of an MB executive and he said the US is their largest market worldwide.
It's true that a lot of stolen MB's from western Europe end up in Russia.

America is number one in the world in everything. I love America, and freedom, and liberty. I love that we kill the terrorists when nobody else will. Forgive my English, it leaves much to be desired, I meant 60 thousand. My favorite people are Americans. I am not a racist! May God help our boys over in Iraq! I love America! Happy New Year! Forgive my insolent communist ways. I am not worthy...
