question regarding service

so i went in for a Service B today at 23,000 miles.

originally i thought it would just be $249 for the Service B, but the rep told me i also should do Break Fluid Service ($109) and Fuel System Service ($119) which altogether came out to be close to $500.

are these 2 really necessary? i've never had them done before so i thought what the heck it's at 23k, should probably spend the money.

Thanks!

a quarter mile at a time
Brake fluid should absolutely be changed every 2 years.

What exactly is the Fuel System Service? If it's the fuel filter than you may be able to skip it.

I just happen to have the manual out: (I'm the Newbie here)

20k Svc does recommend Changing the Brake Fluid.

I do not see any mention of Injector Service, don't think it would hurt, especially if you ever had to put a lower octane gas in...

That fuel system service is a moneymaking piece of dealer BS - There is nothing to service. Just stick to the service book and change the filter when recommended.

Brake fluid is to be changed at two years from first delivery. With a 2008, you must be due by now.

I don't think there is any such thing as fuel system service. Filter change is far in the future, as your service book will show you.

Keep in mind that service writers make a commission on anything they sell you.
