Although I know many of you here on the forums say that polargs are the best eyelids to go with, I need a pair of eyelids that will match with a DDM HID kit. As far as I've researched, LEDs are bad because they burn the housing and change color after a while. I am looking for a bluish look for my car unlike most people here who want white lights. I want to get a DDM (or Raptor) HID kit with 8000k for both lowbeams and fogs and need to know which brand of eyelids will match best with these.

If you have the time and experience I would use ccfls Although I never had any problems with branded leds

bulbs are never bright enough for the eyelids. I'm one of the lucky few that still has my leds working from the group buy and imo they look awesome!

Try out LEDs from iJDMtoy. They look lovely. I just got my pair of those day before. But haven't got time to install them yet. Shall do so soon.

I heard LEDs burn the housing of the eyelid bulbs though??

Not the ones with load resistors! Besides that, LEDs never emit much heat as compared to conventional bulbs. So i don't think you need to worry about that happening

Regular PolarG's work just perfect for me and not worrying about load resistors or chaning in color when they are hot.

Actually, when I was researching LED eyelids, a post said that the LED is not the part that gets hot, but the resistors. I plan on using Polargs, but what color do they match? 4300K? 6000K?

i did some researching and if you guys go look at the feedback for ctgilles LED eyelids, you will see that many people's eyelid housings got burnt along with the LED bulbs themselves. I don't know if it was because of resistors of w.e. but apparently it did have built in load resistors for it.

Mine havn't burnt out yet but i'm too scared to look inside to see weither anything is burnt or not..but so far the CT gilles leds still work for me..

Mine are the xenon white of course. And really, if you get ones with load resistors, the housing absolutely will not burn out. Those are polarG sidemarkers by the way. I'm gonna change those to LEDs soon too!

They match my stock xenons quite well, I couldnt be any happier! I am debating if I should swap them our for amber eyelids. Anyone tried it and what do you guys think?

I think I've seen a member here swapping his stock eyelids with amber ones and it looks kinda cool in a way. Just to stand out of the crowd. Otherwise I would recommend using Polarg as I have been using them for about 3 months and still no problems at all. They match my Philips Diamond Vision (5000k) as well.

to snarlingchicken, how long have you been using those LED's for?

also to pattrickke, i recommend you check out your eyelids and probably remove ctgilles LED's asap because MANY people's are getting burnt and messing up the housing.

I'm nearing the two-month mark on mine. I've personally seen the damage from the ctgilles LEDs and I can see why you're concerned. I was considering them when I first started scavenging for eyelid LEDs but after I saw the flickering, the purplish color, and read about the damage/color changing, I decided to look elsewhere. I found the ones from iJDM and they looked promising so I went for them. There has been no damage to the housing at all. I've recently opened them up to take a look. And the color never changes even after extended amounts of time. They stay a nice xenon white! Also, I believe the reason that these don't burn out or anything is due to the load resistors potentially being of a higher rating than those of the ctgilles LEDs. Just a thought. You can probably ask the iJDM support group what rating the LEDs are at in case. But I highly recommend them. I love the color

And Mat, I'm not sure, but it could depend on how you see, or how the camera sees your lights. For example. Here's another picture of my lights.
But on this, my camera was on full auto, so it perceived the color as it best saw fit. But in reality, the colors are what you see in the previous colors up there; a nice xenon white. The same goes or applies for/to headlight lighting as well. The lights may have a tinge of blue to them in certain viewing conditions, but I don't think any of the ones on iJDM will match. You could try their ultra blue ones, but I think it'd be a stretch, or maybe even a pull-me-over sign in some states. Honestly, my LEDs are nowhere near as blue, and my polarGs are nowhere near as perfect of a white. It's just the camera tweaking it. I'm a bit off topic.

But to sum up your question Mat, no, I don't think they have 8000k LEDs :[

i WISH the LEDs were the same color as the picture you just posted above. wow both the eyelid light and the reflector lights look AMAZING!!

:/ Yeah. If my sidemarkers actually looked like that I would be so happy. Haha. Another solution might be to get some blue lamin-x in bulk and cut it to the shape of the eyelid. It would give the white light a bluer shade that you might like.

Not necessarily. If you haven't seen the film, it's a mere light blue built with the intention of protecting the lights and giving halogens and such a more "xenon" look. I guess using these on already white lights would just boost that effect. If it does, it'll probably be marginal. Either way, these are only the eyelids. They're not so crucial for visibility.
