Yeah - take it to the dealer, there's nothing you can do...

They'll have an interior repairman come in and patch that sucker up for less than or around $100 - you'll never know anything was there to begin with!

Chris

(may want to call instead of going in - these services are usually provided by an outside vendor that is partnered with the dealership so an apptmt will probably be necessary)

That looks like ARTICO leather. Not sure how they would repair that, but I'd assume it is the same as any other leather seat. I had a puncture in the middle of my seat in my G35x and took it to a local interior shop. They were able to add an additional seam line to get rid of the hole without using additional material. It looks like it is close enough to the edge that they can get rid of it by restitching that section without having to use any additional fabric. My first call would be to your local interior upholstery shop, you'll get a better price and they will explain how the fix will be done much better than the dealer.

Let me guess... designer's jeans?
Anyways, I would go through the dealer instead of contacting the interior workshop directly. This way the dealer is responsible if anything goes wrong. Also, if you have a lot of people skills I think this might be something you can put on your warranty since it looks like it teared from normal use of the seat. It is at least worth a try.

I would certainly take it to the dealer first, it might be covered under the warranty. If not, then take it to your local car upholstery shop. That is my recommendation.

Something similar just happen to me and I took it to the dealer and they told me that the warranty don't cover that because I could of ripped it my self so they can't do anything about it for me for free. But they have a person or company who works with them in fixing leather, so just ask them for that persons number and you contact them directly it will be cheaper.

Hi, I have also long crack on both driver and passenger seat leather. It is black 98 C230 with black interior. I took it to interior repairman, he said that he can fix it by replacing the crack area with new leather. But the problem is we cant find same looking material. W202 seats are combined of 2 different leather. Middle part is with tiny holes or it looks like it is having holes. The rest is without holes. We need the middle part leather. Anybody know from where we can get?

Leather? I'll bet it's MB Tex which is vinyl. Leather seats do not have the perforations.

These days MB calls MB Tex Artico to attempt to confuse the buyers. Seems to be working.

Actually it is progress that we have determined vinyl because when uncertain i can not decide what to look for. Price increases from 200 to 800 when switched to leather. May be somebody know where i can find perforated vinyl sized max 40x30cm?

Are you sure that leather seats do not have perforations? Because I have seen websites where perforated leathers offered when selected 1989+ models Mercedeses.

Well, my 1995 C280 with Saddle leather, my 2001 C320 with Java leather and my 2008 C300 with Beige leather all had non-perforated seating surfaces.

No holes!

I have the same problem. I don't think you want to take it to the dealer. Anyone has good DIY ideas? For these faux MB-TEX leather, are they considered as vinyl? How to get it repaired? Thanks!
