Reverse tilt down mirror

Does reverse tilt down mirror work on a 09 C350 or on certain year models only?

The US lost the feature for 09. But, another thread made a great suggestion which I am using. Set the mirrors to the down position and code into an unused memory position. A quick touch of the memory button before backing up gets the mirrors looking helpfully at the curbs!

I can already picture myself constantly forgetting to press the memory position for the mirrors to go down, but what the heck I'll try it tomorrow.

Does the car have to be in Park for the memory positioning system to work or can we leave it in Drive?

You'll be surprised how quickly it becomes one of those automatic habits. I don't know about Park and Drive in the C......sportSTICK, remember?

But, I did the same in my wife's E, which is automatic, and it does work in D or R!

I never thought about that, maybe that why they gave us 3 memory position, I never understood why would there needed to be three, I though two was enough. One for the mirrors, lolz.

Tilt down is in my owners manual and it works on my 2010 C300. To set it you put the car in reverse, adj right mirror into position, hit memory button, and then touch right mirror adj button again.

Thank you for providing that info source. I tried again the protocol in the 2010 manual and my 09 does not respond. I did notice that the '10 feature only adjusts the passenger side mirror.

Theres a thread which tells you how to reset the mirror settings, and it should work. Mine stopped working from after the first month and I didnt realise it could be reset, thought it was a malfunction.
Did the reset and its perfectly alright.

I just looked in the owners manual and there is a way to set it to go down for reverse and it will return after 10 seconds.

To be clear:
You CANNOT do this in 2009 US models.
You CAN in 2010 US models and 2009/2010 Canadian models.
I wonder how hard it is to retrofit, I loved this in my CLK.

I tried to do this following the instructions in the owners manual and could not get it to work. Went by the dealer and they could not get it to work either. They were going to research it and give me a call.

I know you have to have memory seats.

I was hoping Mid City Engineering was going to offer this functionality with their backup camera kit. I spoke to a tech there about it last year and they said is was possible to do. Would be a nice edition, especially for us '08 early adopters who got punked on the memory seats...

Owners manual in my 2010 says that it works on cars without and with memory seats. The maunual gives instructions for both, but I can't activate it.
