2009 C350, 2008 X5 4.8i
Ex-328i owner.

My first message here. I just got a 2009 loaded C350, first Mercedes ever as I always purchased BMWs. Compared to my 2007 BMW 328i I have to say it’s a huge upgrade in both looks, power and comfort but it falls a little short on road feel (the 2007 had sport suspension plus I always liked the 6-speed over any automatic transmission).

Steering is a little dead on center also on the C350. Otherwise the looks and price (compared to the 335i) attracted me to this car. So far I have to say I am happy with this lease and the 7-speed auto for my money is one of the best automatic transmissions out there making it less painful not to have the 6-speed manual.

Any issues I should be looking for?

Hostile BMW owners.....they troll this forum, too!

You will find threads about suspension upgrades from Eibach, H&R. And, if you are on the OE rubber, there is good opportunity for improving steering feel, including on-center response. I am very fond of my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus, but depending on location/climate, PS2 are even better. But, the steering effort is the steering effort. As one who also once had a Bimmer, I can attest you will get used to it. But, I couldn't give up the stick!

Thanks for the info. I have the 18 in AMG wheels/tires and will probably be getting aftermarket 18 in wheels for it. I did read somewhere that the OE rubber was average at best. Also another thing I forgot to mention I don't like. What is up with the signal position? 8 times out of 10 I am still hitting the cruise control lever.

Does it help to answer the question that I don't even notice that anymore? It all falls neatly to hand after a while. Time heals all wounds.

Yeah, I come to love the cruise stalk. I practically drive the car with it.

I actually really like the turn signal to be that low. I got so used to it that now when I get into my Acura my fingers automatically goes there and then notice that im not in my Benz
