Not on this forum or maybe it was...but I read that you should put the car up on jacks because the spot where the tires touch the ground will get weak(?) or something.

Here's what is on the MB Owners Online website, although the duration is described as leaving for Summer vacation:

Schedule an oil and oil filter change, and then drive your vehicle to circulate the new oil. If your vehicle´s Maintenance Service Indicator indicates routine maintenance is due within 1000 miles/30 days or less, have the maintenance performed.
Top up your vehicle´s gasoline level to minimize moisture accumulation in the tank.
Ensure tire air pressure is 32 to 35 lbs to minimize flat spotting. Check your owner´s manual for specifications.
Check that the battery is fully charged, then disconnect the negative terminal cable (leave the positive wire connected to minimize any parasite drains). A battery trickle charger is ideal for maintaining the battery charge over extended idle periods. Contact the Parts Department of your local authorized Mercedes-Benz Dealer to learn more about trickle chargers.
Cover your vehicle with a car cover or non-abrasive tarp.

Don't you have any family friends or neighbors who you could let them drive it once a week to have the car not sitting? Any friends from the navy who live close to you where you can leave them with the car?

Your best bet is to have someone drive the car 20-30 miles every few weeks. Be sure they keep the gas tank topped off to reduce condensation into the gas.
If not, Sportstick's list looks pretty good but I would add fuel stabilizer and run the car several miles before you park it. If you put it on jack stands to prevent flat spotting the tires, make sure you have the proper pads and place them properly.

Oh, most importantly THANKS for your service!
