Mid 50's here in Chicago today, so I figured I'd pull out the hose and wash the vehicles.

new development = same houses = cost effective...

older development = various people build into new styles = different houses

my whole town and the next one over... there's only like 3 types of houses they built in the '50s.

Anyway, black won't stay clean for long... I even see dirt on my white after just a few short days... but it gives you a reason to spend some time with it right?

Thanks Guys !

Yeah, I live about 55 miles from the city in a newly developed suburb. There are four models in my neighborhood and they all look pretty much look the same.

Black is definitely a love / hate relationship. I was doing some work in the garage last night so I left the cars outside overnight and of course they were covered in frost this morning - doh ! At least my car stayed clean for a couple of hours

Here's a couple more pictures :

And here's what I traded in for the C350 :

Have a great week, everyone...

Very nice collection. It kind of looks like your c might be due for a nice wax. The black looks a bit dull, but it could just be the picture. Anyways, keep her nice! =Þ

jctevere,

Must be the pictures, I did apply a coat of Zaino to the Benz after the wash.

Midnight,

Yes, I traded in the Boxster and the c280 for the c350. The Boxster had 60k miles, and with the recent addition of a baby girl to our family I just couldn't justify keeping it. The c280 was my winter car ( it had 150k miles ) and with the purchase of the c350 I no longer needed two cars ( the A4 is my wife's ).

Good to hear that. Just a question out a curiosity... How does the A4 drive compared to the c350? What are likes vs dislikes. I would ask about power-wise as well, but since you have the c350 that won't be much of a difference, but I drive a c300, and well, I was wondering if it was marginally "peppier" than mine.

Interesting question. Let me put it this way, I would rather take the A4 to an autocross or to the track, but I would pick the Benz for a road trip any day. Even though on paper the c350 is faster than the A4 ( 6.2 0-60 and 14.5 in the 1/4 vs 7.7 0-60 and 15.8 in the 1/4 ), the Audi just seems "quicker" and sportier. Also, the Quattro is amazing in the snow, while the RWD Mercedes leaves much to be desired when traveling before the plows have hit the streets ( both have all season tires - I will say the c350 is MUCH better than the c280 was in the snow ! )

Both are great cars. I have more interior room in the Benz, but the Audi gets better gas mileage. I will say that when I drive the Audi in the winter ( I take the wife's car in the winter when I go snowboarding since it has fold down rear seats ) I do miss my Benz. But, when the wife goes shopping on the weekends, 9 times out of 10 she takes my car for some reason

Hope that helps...

Nick

Nice!

I'm in the burbs as well. Just picked up an '08 C300 4Matic Sport... fuel consumption seems to be horrid... my 530i seems like a fuel efficient car by comparison.

Pete,

What kind of MPG are you seeing in your C300 ? My commute is about 20 miles ( on Higgins from Randall to Barrington Road ) and I average about 21 mpg.

I don't have much data since we literally just got it. Fiancee did one day of commute (about 12 miles one way on I-355 and Butterfield Rd) and got about 22 mpg. My 530i would have gotten about 25 mpg under the same conditions. I guess automatic trans and AWD take their toll.

A little off topic, but where can I find more info about Mercedes' current 4Matic system... is it permanent AWD? % split between front/rear axles? Etc..

Thanks.
