Automatic Head/Tail Lights Problem - Brand new 2010 C300 4MATIC

HI I am in Toronto Canada. Just picked up a brand new C300 4MATIC last week and I am noticing that no matter what time of day, and regardless of what headlight switch (0, A, low beam) I have set, my full sets of head and tail lights including license plate lights are always on. My last C Class was a 2002 C240 and I never had this problem.

As I drive around here in Canada I noticed all other C300s only have the preset daytime running lights on BUT only in the front. I can't turn the lights at the back off even if I try, in broad daylight under the noon day sun. So long as my ignition is on, all lights come on.

Is there something I should do before taking it back to the dealership?

Am I the only one facing this problem?

Much appreciated

Might be a new thing for Canadian vehicles.

May be but if that's the case, why bother giving us a light switch? If you know what I mean.

I'm pretty sure its a Canadian motor code thing. Is the option for daytime running lights option turned on?

I am in Toronto, and my car's tail lights only come on during day if it is raining or when it is a fairly dark day. I always keep the light switch on "A".

I'm in Montreal and my DRLs are just the fronts, and we can't really control that...

You should get it checked.

That's what I thought. I just can't believe a brand new car off the lot would actually have a problem. I may have to take it in

In Canada we don't have the option to turn DRL off. But the manual said DRL only applies to front head lamps not the back.
